Great first half, with Holtby continuing his pre-season form. I cannot see him not starting next week. It's going to take a little while for the team to gel and with Verts likely to return as well as Capoue it will be interesting to see how Poch sets the team out for the PL opener.

Was at the game yesterday; Holtby was everywhere and wanted the ball all the time. Eriksen was anonymous, so too were Lennon and Bentaleb. After yesterday's game it seems Sandro isn't going to fit in anymore and would probably be best for both parties if he was sold.

Whilst I don't want to take anything away from Holtbys performance, when you say he was everywhere then go on the discredit Erikson and Bentaleb, you should perhaps think about how much work off the ball they are doing to fill the void left by Holtby. As fans we love it because it looks like Holtby is working so hard, that we overlook the fact its actually also ill discipline in positional sense.

Thought we looked good yesterday. Passing forwards instead of across the middle.

Then I watched the charity shield today and compared to the scum we have a lot to make up.

We have a week to get sorted and find out our best team, we got some work ahead of us.

I was at the game yesterday too and made the point that I would choose Bentaleb over Holtby if a choice had to be made. Don't get me wrong, Holtby's personality is great and he seems like a nice bloke to have around the place. I think this masks what he actually does for us though. He's very busy and seems like he runs his nuts off but his passing lacks any real purpose. Bentaleb takes charge in the middle and demands the ball. His passing has a lot more zip and purpose.

Holtby just seems like a bit of a comedy character around the place.
