It's typical Tottenham, doing well and real position to push on but no investment. Goes pear shape and then end up having to spend more next year. Eat sleep repeat.

What has this to do with investment? This is about player mentality. We played them off the park in the first half and then go out in the 2nd thinking we can stroll to a victory. This is not the first time this season. Got nothing to do with investment

For many of they players it is a job where as for us it is our life's passion..that is why a second half performance like that makes us lose our shit. We have been in a false position most of the season as we have gotten away with a lot of results. That does not excuse today but it explains a lot.

The Aldeweireld decision is an odd one with a 3 week break on the horizon so look forward to that being cleared up.
Kane coming back has disrupted things somewhat and that is not the first time as it happened last season as well. Its madness to leave him out as he is one of the best in the world but it has proven to be a contributing factor at Burnley and things have snowballed from there.

Right, everybody on their knees and pray that Wolves beat Chelsea and Utd and Arsenal draw tomorrow

I’d rather Man U won. We only need 2 teams to drop points and they look like the one of the other three least likely to lose matches.

Lack a leader on the pitch. Someone who rolls his sleeves up when we’re up against it...gives someone a rollicking when they need it...we don’t have that. Lloris doesn’t do it, Kane doesn’t and neith does Vertonghen. Could Dier do it?...not sure either way it’s what we lack. Just seen Poch mention arrogance and complacency....surely that’s down to him to correct?

Yet again. He doesn’t seem to be able to do it. Sometimes the players just need a different voice. I think he needs to move a few on in the summer. The squad needs freshening up and has done all season.

Disagree.

The moment they started to press us in the second half we fell to bits because we just don’t have the players to play out of it. Dier and Sissoko? Sure, they work as hard as anyone but there’s no precision there.

We’ve been crying out for a CM like that for years, and then we go and sell the best one we do have (I know, I know... injuries etc) but it doesn’t really surprise me that a team that didn’t freshen or invest, that lost most of its top players to the World Cup all summer, is starting to look incredibly leggy out there.

We were good in that first half but Southampton were equally poor.

I genuinely believe the new stadium will facilitate the fans' ability to get these kind of results accross the line against Valencia, Lazio, CXK Das Boot, Hot Boyos of Bern et al as well as the opportunity to buy one of those hats with cans of Budweiser attached to either side and a straw going directly into one's mush.

This is my worry and why I think it’s going to get worse rather than better. The players are spent.

After reading how poor Southampton were in the 1st half, I'm surprised that so many are shocked by their second half showing.

Yes it sounds like we were shit (again) but you only have to think back to their outstanding performance against United last weekend. Their energy & pressing was never going to be absent for the entire game today, and our lacklustre, half-hearted 'performance' was always likely to rear its ugly head (again).

You could tell last week in the United game, the new Southampton manager watches & assesses what's happening out there on the pitch, and makes amendments to counter the opposition.

Looks like Southampton have potentially unearthed another very good young manager.

This forum’s like crack when we lose. I know it’s harmful to me, but I keep coming back

Unfortunately we should have won against Burnley and Southampton as well, therefore I am not holding my breath

Oh yeah trust me mate you're very right, I'm just trying to hold on to any hope we may have. I'm not feeling optimistic about anything right now but this is all in the hope that we turn things around. At this stage god knows, just can't believe we can be so close to looking like possible outsiders for the top 4.

Normally how Spurs do will dictate my mood massively but now I'm just in a mood of whatever happens will happen and I expect nothing now. Will make further disappointment easier to take!

It's all on our remaining home games for me now. Win those and we may still finish top 4. These away defeats have ruined our away record which was looking so good. How we need to start our NWHL form the way we left off at WHL.

On train back to London. It was so easy 1st half. Needed to score 2nd. They were poor all game. 2 mistakes from kwp (experience?) and they score each time. Still not quite sure what happened.
