(a) I can not believe A Madrid did not cancel any prior agreement with Southampton regarding 1.5m before trying to sell him and (b) Levy did not know that unless that Madrid paid Southampton 1.5m before a deadline date any deal would be useless. FFS even I knew there was a clause how come these negotiators did not. 1-0 to the Saints?

Levy is not that dumb to fly out and agree a fee without looking at the legal side.At the end of the day if the player wants to move to spurs he will get it.Saints will be given a small amount under the table to keep them happy or they will have to out bid us.

If Saints have got a deal with AM they do not have to outbid us all they have to do is meet the original lower agreed figure of about 8m. Only other clubs can outbid us if we are still there to outbid.

blatantly obvious toby is coming to us, why would soton need to take action unless he was going to them

11.5 mill is a great deal if we can do it, still 26 years old and more mobile then fazio

im more Fazio than mobile, unfortunately

As others have said, Levy wouldnt have done a deal knowing the legal side wasnt sewn up. Wonder what our chances of getting MS become if we pull out of the TA deal.

Have never understood how the whole 'first refusal' thing works... surely it's down to the player who he signs for at the end of the day.... you can set a price, but you can't force a transfer, can you?

As others have said it is difficult to see that there is a legal document which tells a player which Club he is allowed to play for. Would breach every labour law under the sun.
