Poor old Mousa Dembele.
He signs in August, is arguably our best player in the early part of the season, and is always first choice when he's fit, but we don't have a song for him. Then Lewis Holtby signs in January and we're singing his name almost as soon as the ink on his contract is dry. Mousa is probably feeling a bit left out.
So I started thinking about what songs we could sing for him. Don't worry, this isn't one of those threads where I make up crappy lyrics to existing tunes. But there are existing songs that we can use. The one that the goons sing for Cazorla and that ManUre sing for van Rapist would do nicely, as it would for Gylfi Sigurdsson. Plus there are also songs that we used to sing for other players that we no longer sing. For example:
1. The Stevie Perryman song.
I couldn't tell you the tune, but we used to sing 'Oh Stevie Stevie, Stevie Stevie Stevie Stevie Perryman'. Again this could be used for either Mousa or Gylfi, and probably quite a few others.
2. The Archibald song.
No, not 'we'll take more care of you', but repeating his name to the tune of 'Hail To The Chief'. Instead of Archibald, use Dembele, or Sigurdsson, or whoever.
There must be loads of others that haven't occurred to me. So if any of you reading this sing at the Lane, how about it?
