So what would you pay for Spurs' front three?

Well, according to the CIES Football Observatory, it should be in the region of 319m Euros. The study they ran has identified which players they think should command the 100 most expensive transfer fees and how much they should be.

Looking at the players in the top 30, there's

1 player apiece from Bayern Munich, Everton, Inter and Leicester
2 from Atletico, Man United, Juve, Chelsea, Dortmund and Arsenal
3 from Barca and Man City

and 4 from Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry is 6th (139m Euros). Dele is 9th (110m Euros). Christian is 26th (70m Euros) and Eric Dier is 29th (69m Euros).

Now I know all this doesn't mean that much. We don't want to sell, so knowing what the price is doesn't really matter.

But, bloody hell, what a great job we've done as a club bringing in young talent and developing them so that our squad can compete with the best in Europe in terms of talent. And all for very little money too. Well played, Spurs.

That analysis is fundamentally flawed as it valued Paul Pogba at £136.4m.

Hob nobs…….my kingdom for a hob nob. I haven't eaten one of these delicious biscuits in ages. Thanks for mentioning them as I will now see if I can have a box sent all the way over to Guatemala.

How is Bale not in top 10? List loses all credibility.
because:

A second group of indicators takes into account the players’ performances, notably in terms of the amount of time played in the different club competitions (domestic leagues, cups) or, eventually, in national teams. Recent performances are given more weight than previous ones.

He's been out injured. Those above him have been performing well so their value has gone up. It's like FIFA rankings.

Apparently Danny Drinkwater is worth more than Douglas Costa and Racist Steptoe is worth more than Lacazette. OK.

Always grinds my gears when we play rich clubs. They compare the cost of their squads vs ours and bleat on about how great the others are as they cost £XXX,000,000

Why not compare the value of the squads?

Considering Lamela is equal to Eriksen in my mind, plus Dier and Alli were funded by sales of players bought with the Bale money, we rock basically.

Folks need to stop this nonsense that we blew the Bale windfall. Paulinhos fee was reinvested to pay for Dier and Alli (crudely).

Ok let's say we blew it initially but made it up, Eriksen and Lamela have done well and we managed to sell the others for good fees and reinvest well so no longer term damage.

I like it when people compare the cost of our squad with the richest clubs. It shows how well we've done to remain on par with them.
