It's a shame that you can't choose which commentary team you listen to via the red button. I know that you could do it with fans in the past, but it would be great if you were given a chance to listen to either pro Tottenham or pro Arsenal commentators during the NLD for example.

One thing that winds me up about modern football coverage is the amount of time dedicated to refereeing decisions. If a player does a fantastic bit of skill that doesn't lead to a goal you'll be lucky to see it more than once, but if there's a slightly questionable decision we have to watch it a dozen times.

agree, you can see say a penalty chance, which would never be give but because they slow mo it so much and replay it, you think your team have been robbed.

Sky coverage has always been shite. Christ, I remember their first few seasons... washed up 80's daytime tv presenters, cardboard backdrops, and lamentable commentary; "Ian Woan! Makes them moan on Tyneside..."

One of their first live games, they had Man City v Oldham Athletic... bloody fireworks, ticker tape and cheerleaders on a dreary autumn sunday afternoon, with the dullest 0-0 draw game of football in existence. Football as we knew it died that day.

The trouble is, they can’t debate a piece of skill. They want to make the game seem dramatic and edgy, and so they push the refereeing decisions to the fore. It gives the pundits endless material to argue over, and often it’s a matter of opinion so they can’t really win or lose the debate no one is wrong no one is right, but seeing Souness scowl at someone about it makes good drama apparently.

As for being given a choice of commentary, I’d love to be able to just have the crowd noise.

Sky has great picture quality and I put up with the rest.
The big trick is having fine-tuned selective hearing a must for all TV sport IMO
