Hmmm, that's not ideal. It did kind of look like he meant to throw the elbow, but maybe didn't mean it to get him in the face.

But can we also please now retrospectively charge Arter for following through and going studs up into Wanyama's calf?

I think the difference is the ref saw the challenge on Wanyama so nothing will be done on that one. Neither official seemed to see the elbow otherwise he would have been sent off. I don't think it was malicious but just overly aggressive.

If you watch it carefully and watch sissoko and his movements I dont think he went in with intent and he accidentally caught him with a high elbow, I believe him when he says he didn't mean to do it.... he will however be banned for 3 games.

And I agree about Arter - interesting that MOTD didn't even show that incident and instead focused on lamela and sissoko.

if it wasn't intentional, it was a little naive.

Why are you tussling for the ball for a throw in, just be cool.

Now you risk a three match for handbags.

Fair play to Arter for his reaction to it in the interview after despite the interviewer saying it looked like a deliberate elbow and it should have been a red card. For a start, it didn't look deliberate, just clumsy as they scuffled for the ball. And that comes from someone who cringes at biased viewpoints.

Agreed. Was watching the game and thought to myself jeez soccer players are just completely brainless. There was no need for any sort of altercation between the two of them. Basically blew his chance for a run in the first team any time soon

But why did Arter try to stop Sissoko getting the ball to take the throw and get on with the game?

you cant fall for that bait.

It will cost you a 3 match ban mate.

Be cool, this is the EPL, cameras are everywhere, you can't get away with anything.

He'll learn, Dele had his moments last season, haven'y seen any acts of petulance from him this season. Early days though and Poch will be sending clear messages of course.

Just remember the Chelski match from last year

I think picking the ball up when a foul/throw has been awarded to the other team should be an automatic booking. It ruins the flow of a game and there's rarely an advantage if a player can walk 15 yards with the ball and allow his team to get everyone back.

He so did not do this intentionally. you can clearly see he tried to move him out the way. missed his elbow with his elbow and hit him in the face. It was clumsy but in no way was it deliberate.

Some serious spurs tinted glasses in here. Was blatant and deserves everything he gets. If that was an Arsenal player doing it you'd all be up in arms.

I don't think he meant it, as we haven't really seen any fight or determination in him at all. He is not that sort of player.

Unlike Dele, Sissoko is a 27 year old seasoned international, and as such should know better.

It's pretty clear it's not deliberate on the replay. He doesn't once look back.

He catches him tho. Reckless maybe? Dunno
