During Poch's presser for Swansea, one of the last questions was about Siggy. He talks about how he didn't have enough time to evaluate him for the team and that the decision to sell him to Swansea came and the player and chairman already sorted out the deal. Anyway, he says the player is well respected but goes on to say that

" It was a shame but that is football and sometimes you split ways but you never know in football what will happen in the future" * poch proceeds to give a :sneaky: look at the end of this.

Start at 13:20, it's about 2 mins long.

Make.It.Happen. I still miss Siggy, never got a run fair chance as a AM/CM when he played for us.

I liked him but not good enough for us. He's better off being (one of) the main man in a mid table club than a fringe player at ours imo. I'd rather give Onomah & Winks more minutes that pay to bring back Siggy.

There was a reason why we sold him, but I think he has developed as a footballer to be fair. And to add to that we never really gave him a run in the team in the number 10 position.

He would do a job for us no doubt as he did last time, but I think we might as well give more opportunities to our youth players now.

Everytime he played at 10 he looked lost. Too slow physically and mentally to give us the edge against bus parkers. He is better off being the main man at mid table club. He's just not good enough for us.

Better than we have, if we have a buy back option we should just activate it.

We can always shift to West Ham or somewhere if it doesn't quite work again.

Look at him for his performances over the last 2 years, try forget what he was when we first had him. Yes, for a decent price, I would 100% take him

We need players who are better than what we currently have, ie better than Alli, Eriksen, Son, Lamela

I like Siggy, but he does not fit this bill

Not for me, we are stacked with players that can operate in the 10 role, Dele, Eriksen, Lamela, Son, and of course Harry Kane who's got the shirt and can play there too.
If we are looking for a new one, I like that Bruno Silva at Monaco, thats the type of players we should be buying but we don't really need him.We need a pacey striker to give us the option to stretch teams I think.

Would take him back in a heartbeat.

It's not fair to take an AMC, put him on left wing, complain about the lack of production, sell him off, only to watch him start banging them in again when back in his natural position. Especially when we are hurting for goals from open play.

While we're at it, I'd take Chadli back too. It's easy sometimes to say "not good enough" but during more than a few games this year it would have been nice to see those two coming off the bench to look for a goal.

Sometimes you don't know what you have until it's gone.

Siggy Stats
16/17 - 4 goals 4 assists ( 13 games )
15/16 - 11 goals 2 assists ( 36 games )
14/15 - 7 goals 10 assists (32 games )

Eriksen Stats
16/17 - 1 goal - 3 assists (12 games)
15/16 - 6 goals - 15 assists ( 35 games)
14/15 - 10 goals - 2 assists ( 38 games )

These are merely for reference, Siggy is played as a lone fwd at times for Swansea and was surrounded with some pretty poor forwards especially in the 15/16 season.

I personally always thought he was a step slow and he is most definitely not a press player. He has very limited physical attributes outside his right foot. Like the guy not he player for Tottenham in my opinion

I really like him and even have his shirt.

But he doesn't suit our play. We gave a lot of good players to bottom half teams like Mason, Chadli, (Defoe), Naughton or Livermore. They are decent enough to play a good role there but they clearly don't help when we have too much of the ball and not lot of space. None of them could step up and take a game in his hands.
