Pre-season action began in earnest at Hotspur Way today (Wednesday) as we beat Southend United 6-0 in a behind closed doors friendly.

Erik Lamela scored a first-half hat-trick and there were also goals for Fernando Llorente and Lucas Moura as we raced into a 5-0 lead by half-time, substitute Tashan Oakley-Boothe adding our final goal mid-way through the second period.

Have Lamela's thighs always been that ripped?

Looks like he's been at the weight gain 4000... Beefcake

Be good to see a fully fit and confident Lamela start the season, he will be integral with all the WC late returners. (and through the season hopefully)

Good to see Lamela at the heart of proceedings, as well as seeing Lucas & Aurier linking up well together. It would be interesting to see what position Lamela played because he does have a good eye for a pass & has a great engine. Sadly, the pace to beat a man isn't one of his specialties, however, if he can speed up the tempo of his passing, then he'll prove to be a great asset.

I honestly believe that if we can sign at least 1 x wide-forward, as well as the hopeful signing of Grealish (fingers-crossed), then unless 1 of Toby, or Danny leaves, we're in a place where have at least a solid 20-man squad. Allowing the likes of Dembele, Sissoko & Janssen to leave will mean we have a lean & competitive group.
