The Argentina forward was a peripheral figure in his first season at White Hart Lane but started to work his way back to full fitness with 45 willing minutes against Seattle

He also showed for the ball whenever possible, even with men on his back, which suggests he is not backing out of anything as he steps up his recovery

This, more than any of it has reignited my interest in the kid.

This is the season where all our sigining from last summer should now be shining through ....with he exception of lamela due to his lack of game time. However he should look more settled now and at ease with the prem because hes had a small taste of it .....
Keep him fit through all pre season and get the first few prem games under his belt and if things go well for us ....then I can really see him being a force for us.

Hes been good at all his clubs so far and has shown some nice touches/skill etc.....and you can't be that good and then become that crap .....you never lose it....you just have things that can effect your play eg the move, different style, settling to new country, new lang .....
I guess for a guy his age,its been hard to adjust .....BUT now he looks more happy and more settled so fingerscrossed for him.

He had some difficulties holding onto the ball against Seattle, which I think would be a bigger problem for him in the EPL. He still needs to build up more upper-body strength.

It took Bale a season or two to develop the awesome strength he has now. Lamela is young and still developing . I'm still optimistic and excited that he will come good. My source says he is awesome in training , skill-wise. Our patience will be rewarded!

A season or two?

More like 4 lol.

It struck me when we bought both lamela and soldado how small they were in their upper bodies. Soldado has the chest of a small boy and lamela makes Defoe look like a giant.
I know they're everyone's favourite whipping boys, but look at Lennon, Rose and Defoe. All fairly small guys but they all clearly work on upper body strength.

He needs more games after a long lay off.
He also showed some lovely touches in that game.
And also moved past a couple of players easily.
Not every move comes off.
