Great counter goal, though I think the Celtic player fouled the Rangers player in the build up.

Losing Dembele to Lyon at the end of the TW is going to hurt Celtic

22-3 million softens the blow but no replacement for them .. Ouch

Shit completely missed he’d left Celtic!

Griffiths scores a lot for them but not sure if they have any other centre forwards and Dembele was a class up.

I would say the ever widening gulf in finances is the reason that Scottish football isn't keeping up with the top leagues. Most English Championships teams are richer that Scottish Premiership teams!

And the Scottish league rummage around our conference for players! ??

I made mistake of implying Scottish league was kinda shit to a Scottish colleague at work few years back, he went proper Glasgow style psycho on me.

I never mentioned Scottish football to him again.

Nine consecutive domestic trophies takes some doing regardless of the league strength of the opposition...(y)

Not really. In the 2017/18 season, Celtic's revenue was over £100m while Rangers were second highest with £32m and Celtic's wage bill stood at £59m to Rangers's £6.6m. The SPL is essentially one team with a ton of money and eleven poor as fuck teams.

There should have been two teams with loads of money but one got caught being naughty.

Man City had a clean sweep on the domestic front but 4 other English teams are in European Finals. I’m not saying it’s comparable to the English League but there’s a lot of teams doing their own thing in Celtic’s shadow, rather enjoying scrapping it on a a playing field a bit more level with Rangers.

But bollocks to the lot of them, come on you Bhoys!

Yep, fully agree with regards to the league title but 6 out of 6 "one off" Cup finals in which anything can sometimes go wrong 'on the day' takes some doing....

It's a league that really doesn't utilise the strength of their neighbours south of the border.

If I was a manager I would be trying to loan all types of premier League youths, even U18s.

I'm not so sure it does to be honest. Quite frankly it'd be an embarrassment if they managed to not win the league, and as for the cup while I appreciate your point about anything being possible in a one-off knockout game, but even still if you're such massively heavy favourites in every round you're going to win the cup more often than not. You might have the odd wobble every couple of years but statistically you're going to come out on top more often than not.

Fair play to them, they can only beat the teams they're put up against obviously, but them winning the domestic competitions is just achieving what they should do for me. A par finish.

Which part do you disagree with @johnspurs - my first sentence or the second?

It's a no win for Celtic. They clean up domestically and it's par, they don't and it's a failure.

I've been more impressed with Aberdeen, Kilmarnock and Hearts to be honest. Making big strides to close the gap

Yep, pretty much. I just couldn't imagine supporting a club like that. If they win it's pretty hard to get THAT excited about and if they lose it's an absolutely disaster. Must just be boring as fuck. The highs are not that high and the lows are abysmal. It'd be like every single fixture being a Carabao Cup 3rd round fixture against Burton Albion or something.
