Scoring bets

My West Ham supporting mate and myself have a bet every season that I've just expanded to include my Arsenal supporting boss. Basically the bet is very simple: you take the top two league scorers in each club and combine them, then the highest combined total of the two teams wins the money at stake. Each year I've done it with my West Ham mate I've won: last year it was Keane and Berbatov, combining to score more than West Ham's two top scorers; my mate's an idiot by the way.

Who do you think will be the top scorers for us this year in this paradigm? I'm going for Bent and Bentley I think. The scorers don't have to be pre-selected but we do genuinely seem to have the potential to score from vast positions.

I think it's hard to say obviously because we don't know who our forwards are going to be yet, but also because I think goals will come from a wider range of sources as we have such attacking creativity. Not so great for your bet, but very good for the team. If Bent is played on his own up front then yes of course he'll be the top scorer, like Clive Allen, but I still think another striker will be brought in.
