He's homegrown in the prem because swansea's in the english league system, uefa goes by the country of the club not which league system they're in so doesn't count

Dier was not registered for 3 years at an FA club before turning 21 so he is not homegrown. Nationality has no bearing on homegrown status which is why the likes of Sigurdsson (Iceland), Josh King (Norway) and van Aanholt (Netherlands) are homegrown. If germany have similar rules that means Sancho would count as homegrown for Dortmund because he's been there since he was 17 although I don't know if that's the case.

Sancho has only been in germany for a year and a half so he’s not HG there.

So JJ doesn't rule it out for the summer.

I would have thought the deal would be huge enough for Genk to accept in Jan if we do actually want him in.

I'll be fuming if Dembele goes off to China without another CM body coming in. That simply won't be good enough.

Dembele's hardly even been a "CM Body" over the past 6-9 (giggity) months.

I'd have thought people would be a little be positive in the sense that it looks like he's an option in the summer.

Thing is on 2 July 2019...we identified him as a target. We did not anticipate his value rising or that club X blew us out the water or we were waiting on suitors coming in for Gkn, Wanyama, Jannsen but they low balled us.

I have no idea why it has been put like that, but JJ said nothing to suggest he's a target at all, someone asked him if he's an option in this window and he said 'No', not 'No, but in the summer he might be'.
That's not true. He actually said no not in January. The no is about de jong.

He's deleted it now any way.

I didn’t see that deleted one but you can go on his Twitter and see for yourself that he just replies ‘No’ to being asked about Sander Berge in Jan.

He didnt say that. See a few posts above yours. Someone asked if he is an option this transfer window and he replied "no"

Isn't that the same thing?

Is he an option in January vs Is he an option in this transfer window?

I am sure JJ sees the dozen odd replies to his tweets asking for clarification and more information , etc and we all know he reads and, when he wants to, writes on this forum so he could quickly clarify what "No" to the question he was asked meant but he has not. So I can only theorize A) He thinks it's funny watching you all argue on about and/or B) He answered the exact question he was asked and either does not have or does not feel free to give more info on the matter.

But this arguing over what "No" means is quickly becoming a Sanchez "is he 28 or 29" level of comedy.

Would be incredibly frustrating if Genk were willing to agree to a 25mil + rest of season loan back and we just said nope.

Watched this guy in the flesh playing for Norway against Northern Ireland in Oslo just over a year ago. Terrific player, a real midfield pivot type but with a fair physical presence too, a big enough lad. Would be a really good addition for us.

Sancho has only been in germany for a year and a half so he’s not HG there.

"UEFA defines locally-trained or 'homegrown' players as those who, regardless of their nationality, have been trained by their club or by another club in the same national association for at least three years between the age of 15 and 21"

Sancho joined Dortmund when he was 17, so he'll have 4 years in Germany by the time he turns 21, ergo he will be considered Home Grown.
