My absolute pleasure to start the first thread of the transfer rumors page.

Sander Berge CM/DM from Genk, we had ITK previous that we had considered a deal late in the summer. Should be reasonably priced and a league we should be able to pluck from in January.
He looks a Poch player. Tall, athletic, energetic. Hopefully his technique can develop to match the pace of the PL. But he should be gettable

Good club to sign from, they develop players very well and have both a great youth set up (Carrasco, De Bruyne, Courtois in recent times) and an eye for top young players (Coulibaly, Ndidi, Milinkovic-Savic and Leon Bailey). If we’ve identified this kid as the right fit then I’m all for it. His make up appears to be of someone you could play with any of Winks, Sissoko or Dier.

The issue, though, is the HG quote. Pochettino has been quite public about it recently because of how it has affected Foyth. I can only see us signing a non HG this window if two leave, because of its just one surely Foyth is next in line for that spot.

Presumably N'koudou and Janssen and Dembele in the summer I guess.

He looks like a potential Rolls Royce of a player. Good first touch and range of passing. The ability to glide past a man. Looks like he can't shoot though. Lol

But Janssen is already out of the squad so we need to get shot of him and two of our squad players to be able to field another non-homegrown.

Anyway, as for Berge, I worry about his injury record. Missed most of the spring through injury and has missed several games for club and country already this season through injury and fatigue. If he can overcome it he's a potentially top player and absolutely someone we should check out.

Can’t see this happening unless we are shifting a fair few non HG players. And not just Count Dooku and Vinny. Maybe Dembele and or Wanyama will be off to China or something?

Janssen and Nkoudou are already not in the squad. Would have to be two non HGs currently registered in our squad. And the problem with that is, we’d still need to sign an HG option too as we really do use the depth of our squad so can’t afford to be left light.

Dembele, Wanyama, Llorente, Vorm: any two of those (as it ain’t be one of the defenders or AMs) needs to go to sign just one more non HG and also register Foyth. Three of those contracts are expiring this summer anyway, so it would make sense to try and shift them all in January, add Foyth into the CL squad and sign, say, Berge and and an HG option.

Get you a man who looks at you the way Poch looks when scouting absolute units.

The key to a transfer would be Dembele or Wanyama on the way out. We could then slip Berge into their slot in the squad for the prem & UCL.

It’s finding a club that would take either; both are currently crocked. We’d need to be flexible in our negotiations. We’ll see

I don't think so, Ithink that will be pretty easy, the hard part will be getting them to pay what Daniel wants for them.:)

There were rumours Inter wanted him in the summer but were only prepared up to £11m whereas Levy reportedly wanted £30m for him. Given his rapidly declining fitness and even in this market, £10-15m is the best we can hope for. It’s sad to say but it’s time to let Moussa go.
