He signed a new contract because he has been at Fulham most of his life and owed it to them to sign his first professional contract there. It was also better for his development to stay with a club he was going to be a guarteeed starter. Since then it has been written many times that when he leaves he wants stay in London and that we are his preferred option due to Poch’s record with young players etc..

Not only this but he only signed a deal until 2020, he's hardly stitched himself up.

If you want to look for a real contract moron it's Wilfried Zaha.

Should have at least included a decent release clause that can be activated by any team in the CL.

Possibly just Fulham trying to set the table for the coming negotiations. Other reporters have said we aren't doing business until after the Final. Not *necessarily* panic time. Fulham have one marketable asset and about seven dead-weight busts. They just want every last penny they can get from Levy. Also--if the kid has any brains he'll look at the MUFC squad and see Alexis and Martial and Shaw under long-term contracts on the left side of the pitch and ask himself how he's going to get playing time. Regardless of the public-facing (and self-serving) statements of Woodward and Solsjkaer about buying young English talent. They are doing that as commercial cover domestically and to soothe the fan base, not because there's any real organizational commitment to develop talent there. Also, from what I understand, the kid wants to stay in London.
possibly that Man United want him and aren’t messing with anyone.

Yeah, that moron has only gone and guaranteed himself £130k a week for 5 years. How could he have been so stupid?

He's been saying for 3 years he needs to leave Palace and play CL football to progress his career and now Palace are likely to price him out of a move.

Pretty much everyone in football is saying he was badly advised for signing 2 new deals in that time with no CL clause, including his former chairman.

If he's just in it for money then he's done ok, although he'd probably be on even more than £130k at a top 6 club now.

Yep. Him still being at Palace is of no one’s fault but his own now. Signed about 3 new contracts in the last few years. After each one, everyone says its to get his boyhood club more money. But its really pricing him out of a move away as the club dont need to sell and he’s hardly forcing the issue. It’s a win/win for Palace. There most marketable player either stays or they sell him for much, much more than he’s actually worth.

Or perhaps it’s that he actually doesnt want a move?

Sessignon signed a contract and stayed at Fulham because it was hands down the best thing for him and his development, we may not have liked it but it was right for him just like now is the time to leave Fulham.

Is it really the best time for him to leave Fulham? He’s only 18 and if he stays at Fulham he’ll have a another full season in the championship playing week in and out whereas if he joins us, he’ll be playing buys here and there, however I do hope he leaves and joins us:sneaky:

Oddly enough he's 19 it's his bithday today!:)
He was only 16/17 when we wanted him last time and that two years makes a massive difference, there's no benefit for him to have another season down in the Championship he's ready for the prem and to play with top class players to learn from.

Sign him top already! We have to be favs over ManU as he can stay in London, gets to work with Poch and CL. The only thing ManU can beat us on is wages.

Ryan is high up on my personal wish list for this summers transfers. Think he'd fit in really well with the squad and be a huge success in the future. The 2 things you can't teach, pace and trickery he has in abundance. Everything else he'll learn and improve upon.

From the little I've seen of him what actually impresses me most is his intelligence. For such a young player he often makes the right decision - picking out passes rather than running down blind alleys or hoofing it into the box. His pace and trickery are solid but I think it's his intelligence and composure that really sets him apart.

I can't figure out if he's actually very fast or not, I'd say hes probably not as quick as Rose from what I've seen. Definitely not as fast as Son or Lucas.

Has he been wanting to leave for 3 years? Not heard zaha say anything like that until recently

When I watch that video, it's a lazy comparison but it does remind me a lot of Raheem Sterling when he first broke through at Liverpool. Good natural talent, finishing leaving something to be desired but you see how much ability he has and how good he could be with some fine-tuning.

I really hope we sign him, could be a massive player in the future. Those low crosses would be gobbled up by Kane
