The only reason we might go for Sessignon is that we have decided to sell Rose in which case we need Sessignon as part of the squad now , no loan backs.

I agree. I think Poch did dodge questions about Rose still being here Sept 1st. The big issue for me, is not replacing him, its the problem of strengthening a rival. Walker at Man City has improved them, Rose at Man Utd or Chelsea would strengthen them. We just can't do that imo. We could make him wait a year, but then as he gets older and the market calms down, his value could drop - or we try to find another interested team from 'up north'... The interest in Sessegnon has to be related to offers for Rose and money being available as a result.

I don't think Rose is going anywhere. If rumours are true. Chelsea, Man Utd and anyone else have just jumped on recent events to try to unsettle him and us at the same time. I also think we've blown any chance we had of getting Sessegnon.

Why don't they? When did that happen?

Khan bought Fulham with an eye to bringing his much-mooted-to-be-the-incumbent-London-based-NFL-team Jacksonville Jaguars to London before Daniel struck a deal with the NFL to build a stadium capable of truly servicing a full NFL team. Now Khan's between two rocks and a hard place in regard to the future of his NFL team. Keep one of the league's worst teams in one of the league's worst-attended stadiums and continue to be one of the league's biggest jokes, insist the team only move to Craven Cottage and risk the wrath of other NFL owners and the league itself (as well as the pitfalls of having an NFL team play at a stadium and pitch not designed to accommodate a Championship club and an NFL team), or agree to house the team in our new stadium at the benefit of a competing London club.

That doesn't really show he dislikes him though. Getting beaten to the punch doesn't really mean he's going to refuse to sell us a player.

At no point did I state it would mean he's going to outright refuse to sell us a player. All I said is that it would make it harder.

This was the case when we were trying to sign Moussa Dembele (now at Celtic). We were going to get him on the cheap in January as he was at the end of his contract, but they wanted us to loan him back to them for the remained of the season. We said no and so they stuck to their guns and he let his contract expire.

I think you're underestimating the petulance and competitiveness of billionaires. I know for a fact there is no love lost between Daniel and Khan, that's all I'll say on the matter.

I don't really think the Dembele situation had anything to do with Khan and Levy.

I see zero correlation.

Short sighted we should have paid £6 million and loaned him back

mnemonic111 on COYS:

Please dont shoot the messenger but i have been told we have signed Ryan Sessegnon with no loan back, this came from a respected coach at another prem team, he also told me who Fulham have signed as a replacement.

I will as im sure you all will take this with a pinch of salt until we see the player with the shirt !

Sorry if its incorrect !

*edit - props to @WorthATry for pulling this from COYS. It's in the ITK thread but may be better placed in here as not sure the poster on COYS is a verified ITK!

IF this is true, are there any big non-PL football clubs which would be in for a LB and happily pay 50M for Rose?

A big if, but if this were true it doesn't mean Rose would definitely be off this window.

It would mean that unlike Walker we've smartly done the pro active thing and replaced Rose before he's even left.

Succession planning at its finest.

Somehow though I very much doubt this is true.
