The only way I could possibly see this happening is for £40m & Shaw - but I'm not convinced he's a suitable replacement anymore.

Gee the media like the word SET.

He is SET to stay.

He is either staying or his not. Being SET indicates his mind is not exactly made up yet. In any case he is under contract so its not an issue.

We must not sell. Even if they offer their whole first team squad I want nothing to do with that lot.

The England and Spurs defender wants to leave White Hart Lane...

He said nothing of the kind. He said someday he wants to play in the North and that he knows what he is worth in terms of salary. There was not a word about wanting to leave Tottenham. As for "leaving White Hart Lane", I'm not sure there's a great deal left there to leave.

...and was desperate to secure a move back north to Manchester United.

Neither did he say a word about wanting to join Manchester United, never mind being "desperate". North, yes. Someday.

This is how factoids get built. Even the Spurs supporters start to believe them.

Shaw is definitely more talented than Rose was at that age and Poch has proved he can work wonders with players of average ability, Shaw under Poch's tutelage would outstrip Rose easily.

Are you actually critiquing a Daily Express article and pointing out its gibberish. Looking forwards to tomorrow's assessment of the Daily Star!

The only thing I'd sell those ****s is a virus.
If that means never being able to buy from them then I'm more than happy with that.

I agree. I just wonder whether Shaw is psychologically damaged after his broken leg.

Shaw since had a nightmare double fracture of his leg, and still gets pain from it.
He may well get his speed back, but is he physically and psychologically up to it any more?

how is Shaw more talented than Rose,
Rose has played for England at every level and has taken the talented Shaw's place in the main England squad,

Don't let the media hype ,cloud you judgement,
Shaw is not as good as the media keep telling us he is

I don't think as a club that's where we are anymore, we're about finding the new Rose or Shaw, for a few million or developing one from our academy.

They use the word set so they can make up bullshit and publish it without having to prove anything with facts

If we could get Sessegnon for say 25m and sell Rose for 40m, I'd probably take that. Rose is good but not truly great. I think Sessegnon is going to go on to be absolute world class. Rose won't.

In the short term, Davies has done really well since Rose's (latest) injury so I don't think it would set us back that much this season. As against that Rose is injured (again) and has shown his colours so query what impact he will have for us this season?

Having said all of that, I am more than happy telling everyone to F*ck off; we don't need to sell; our team is good enough to win anything.

Martial plus cash in exchange for Rose is not a bad idea, though it would not happen because of the discrepancy in wages.
