Danny Rose says it is no longer an honour to play at Wembley, as he laid bare the frustration that he and his Tottenham teammates feel about the club’s delayed new stadium build and their unsatisfactory stop-gap accommodation.

If Utd are gonna be the fist match at NWHL then we only have Burnley, Bournemouth and Wolves at Wembley, we just need to get through these games.

Csnt help but think that playing in our new home is gonna give the club, the fans and the players such a lift that I think you'll see such a different team to what we're seeing now.

Fingers crossed for the Utd game to go ahead.

I think its also greatly helped the national team, everyone is so used to playing there now so there are no nerves.

Everybody is fed up with playing or going there regularly for home matches

Fair points from Rose. Not sure why some of the negative comments aimed at him.

Not sure I follow?
He’s not exactly “appreciated” by some on here. Recall the reaction to his google comment and the vitriol towards him that some just won’t let go. As a result, if Danny says anything at all there will be those who will always put it in as negative a light as they possibly can, because it’s Danny Rose.

Personally I think he’s bang on.

I was thinking this morning of just how today’s fan base would react to another Danny, Mr Blanchflower. Another outspoken and honest player who wasn’t afraid to voice his opinion regardless of the status quo.

He’s regarded as probably the greatest Captain in our history, but I’m not sure that the fan base today would receive him well.

Its a real shame the way humanity is going:(.
People will be afraid to speak to each other soon for fear of saying something wrong or offending somebody.

Honesty is no longer a trait that is appreciated it seems, it’s taking a backseat to appeasement and political correctness, as people fear the backlash of voicing an honest opinion.
I’m not sure it’s a new thing that certain people will look for reasons to “dig out” someone they don’t like, even if they understand and even agree with what they are saying, but it seems that modern society is less likely to digest what others have to say. The art of argument is being lost as more and more people seem to be closing their minds off to a good argument because of who is making it, rather than judging the content of what is being said.

Maybe it’s just me looking back at “halcyon days” with rose tinted glasses (‘scuse the pun), or maybe it is just social media giving this impression when the reality is that it has always been this way. I don’t know, and I don’t think anyone else does either.

Always remember the old saying about sticks and stones, my mum was always saying to me and my brothers and sister.
Nowadays people get so hurt by something said that people are tending to become introvert and won't risk saying things.
Said state of affairs that, with all the ills in our world, a few words can upset some soo much:(:(

Even in those days, a lot of people didn't take to Blanchflower kindly. He was ignored as a successor to Bill Nick despite the personal recommendation of the latter. He lost his job as a football correspondent as the papers didn't like him speaking the truth. So he ended up having to earn a few bobs playing golf with people who wanted to have company out on the course.

Will 100% support Rose every time he plays for us but I'm just really done with him now. Time for us and him to move on.

I'm sure that in no way did the guardian throw Rose a loaded question there.
I bet it was Rose banging on the guardian door in the wee hours of the morning because he really wanted to vent his spleen about his frustration of still playing a Wembley.

Seriously though what a fkin non story.

What a difference in ideas about Wembley from Danny and Posh, nothing against Rose and fair enough we all want to get back to Tottenham and I can understand his view too but like Posh says it’s a gift to play there.
not many players get to play at Wembley or people even get the chance to see a game there, so I would like that the players enjoy the experience and hopefully help us win some finals there too soon.

Yep. Though to be fair, words can be weaponised, just as much as they can heal.
