Realistically I think we will come 3-5th in the PL due to others strengthening and us having the Wembley factor. I think Man.City will win it and Chelsea or Man.U and possibly l-pool may come above us but my guess at this moment would be that if we adapt to Wembley ok we will come about 3rd.

I think we can and should get to at least the Rd of 16 and or QF of the CL depending on who we'd draw if we got out the group.

And then WIN A CUP!! League or FA cup either is fine!!

Realistically we certainly still have a chance of winning the league but all depends on the Wembley factor which unfortunately I think will effect us. That having said we got 87 Pts last year and I think the league will be even more competitive this year but we could still get around 80pts which should be a solid top 3 finish.

2 scenarios I'd take:

1) Top 4 in the league + a final of a cup, ideally win one and QF of CL
2) 5-6 in the league and WIN a cup and QF or further in the CL.

I think if we won't something but didn't get back in CL that we could still hang onto our best players for the first season in the new stadium. But then again the CL money is pretty important to us so ideally we come lowest 4th in the league and win a cup and go far and have some magical CL nights.

To dare is to do would be winning the double at Wembley and knocked out in semi's of CL to Real Madrid who go on to win it again.

Based on the end of last seasons form it would be us and Man.City and possibly Chelsea going for the title but taking into account Wembley factor and others having to play more than 1 game a week and rivals strengthening i think the table will look like this:

1-Man.City
2-Chelsea
3-Man.U
4-Tottenham
5-Liverpool
6-Arsenal
7-Everton

As long as we make Europe, I think we'll have had a good season.
If it were another season at WHL, that would be a disappointment - we should be top 2 or top 4 and a cup.
You'd think settling in at a new ground should be done by Xmas but every single home game, through the whole season, will see each team raising their game to play at Wembley.
And while we've dealt well with injuries to most of our players, a spate of serious injuries could be a huge issue - fancy missing Victor, Dele & Toby together, for any length of time.

@spids and @shelfboy68 i gave you a disagree on finishing 6th and being happy with. I doubt any Liverpool or Arsenal supporter would be satisfied with 6th place.
We have to show more ambition than that. 6th is a huge backwards step in our trajectory.

Wembley cannot be a factor, sure in the 1st 3 games perhaps but i expect us to adapt quickly.

Besides the following year we will play in our new stadium with those field dimensions.

Thanks for explaining and happy to disagree. I gave my answer with 'specific focus on the word 'realistically'. And there are a number of reasons I said that our 'par' is 6th. (I actually think we will finish somewhere between 4th and 6th).

Firstly, Man U and Man C have massively improved, not only their squads, but also their first XIs. They also have arguably the two most successful managers who will be entering their second full season. Chelsea have also strengthened considerably. I fully expect those three clubs to occupy the top 3 places this season. And seeing they spend hundreds of millions more on players and pay tens of millions more in wages it is no real surprise.
That leaves us to battle with Arsenal and Liverpool for 4th/5th/6th. Seeing as those two clubs have strengthened this summer and we have not I do expect a tougher battle from them than last year. Liverpool will be stronger, and crucially there is no ANC this winter, so Mane and Matip will not miss a month mid season, and Salah will offer a massive injection of pace to their offense.

And finally, a key element in my thought process, we are playing all of our games at Wembley. Statistics show clubs moving ground suffer a dip in form. That is a fact.

Coming back to the threat title 'Realistically' ... I think given the fact we are not spending money on better players, we have a small relatively inexperienced squad, we will be playing 'away from home' every week, on a bigger pitch that does not suit our favoured high pressing style, and have CL to contend with .... I think if we finish in the top 3 we will have massively over achieved.

Until we are in the new stadium, with the increased revenues that will enable us to compete on a level playing field, we should never be expected to finish in the top 3.
