Really? Kane’s worth in the market must be over 200m at least. Bale’s value with his injury record can’t be more that 50m. Then there’s the salary we’d have to pay Bale.

The maths just don’t stack up even if there was a modicum of truth in the story.

IF this is true, isn't it harassment now, isn't there a law against this kind of thing...if not, there should be. We've told teams repeatedly he's not leaving. Isn't there someone we can sue! For £1b in cash we could invest that in a simple index fund for around 5% ROI. That's a cool 50 million per year. You if you spent that 50m per year, the initial one billion would continue to grow, year on year, while you get a 50m per year cash injection (and continue to have £1b+ in cash on hand).

Are you sure you wouldn't take 1 billion?
