I just can't see him as a Poch player or an EPL player. Really don't want to think about losing Eriksen either.
No Spurs fan wants to think about losing Eriksen, but it's almost certain to happen, unfortunately. Yes, he might sign a new contract, but we're probably clutching at straws if we think that's going to happen, at least as things stand just now.

Eriksen needs to stay he is key to the team. Far from being a 'luxury' player you will find that he regularly covers more distance in matches than anyone else. In fact in 16/17 he topped the whole league followed by the likes of Henderson, Alonso, Kante etc, with no other Spurs player near him. In the World Cup this summer he was second only to Golovin, just second, and way ahead of most other players.

The fact that he is so easy and cultured on the ball hides the tremendous work rate he has plus the stamina to do this week in. week out. Good luck to anyone who thinks James or Isco is even close to Eriksen as an athlete let alone as a player. probably the same people who thought Modric was no great loss 'because he doesn't score enough goals'.

Rather we just gave eriksen the contract he deserves
I don't believe the hold up is from the club, to be fair the players want to challenge for something in their career. I don't for one second begrudge them as I will do likewise.

Is all well and good building a new state of the art stadium, building with the youths but that won't cut it at the top, and trying to get the best players out there.

You either pay mega bucks to get the best or you win trophies to attract the best. We don't do any and we have missed a trick this season. No TF activity to booster our team, our first 11 is good but not great. Moreover with the loss of Ali till march, I will be shocked if he was allowed to leave.

Rodriguez is a top-class player whose skill is considerable, however, its whether he will combine that with the relentless work ethic our gaffer will demand of him. In May 2017, Eriksen had averaged 11.97km per league encounter, compared to N'Golo Kante, who had covered a still impressive 11.62km per league game.

A solid cash sum, plus Rodriguez & possibly, Bale (fingers crossed) would mark a great deal for us. I'm in no hurry to relinquish the maestro, however, if his heart is going to Madrid, then, its pretty obvious that we need to secure the best possible deal.

I really don't think Madrid are going to give us James and Bale and money. We'll probably end up selling him for about £100m

The training ground and the stadium are a massive draw, but playing for Real, in Madrid, in the Bernabeau on more money has to be more attractive for players especially non-English ones.

With the injury record of both Rodriguez and Bale compared to Eriksen I think it's a fair deal actually as Eriksen will play as many - if not more - games per season as both of them together :sneaky::whistle:
