wheres this corluka leaving talk came from?

Charlie said:
‘Walker got the nod and there’s no question he is a good player who justifies his place.

‘Redknapp chose Walker and doesn’t see me in the defence, so it is logical to sit round the table and agree an amicable farewell. I will talk to people in the next few days.

‘I don’t have the will again to wait months for a chance, to fight for a position when I see that the coach has other ideas.’

Charlie's been injured, and Walker has had a little ankle knack (might be cleared up now but he had it for the first 6 weeks of the season) so I can see Charlie getting enough games. There is the FA cup and the Europa League, plus he can cover other areas so he should be involved enough.

Plus I'm not sure how much depth Croatia have, not necessarily at right back but in the squad generally. Big call to leave out someone as established as Charlie.

After watching Walker on the weekend, he was dreadful and I think he may need a spell for a week or two. Give Charlie a run.

That Adam Smith at MK Dons has been pretty impressive, younger than Naughton and has been getting rave reviews.

Not saying he should be our reserve RB right now. but if in say 2 years Corluka still wants to leave I think we have it.

Charlie is best mates with Modric. I wonder if Charlie goes will it affect Modric's tenure at WHL?

We should sell him to another London club so they can still be super best mates. I'm thinking Fulham or QPR, but how hilarious would it be if Corluka ended up at Chelsea?

Kaboul is a disaster at right back.

Harry should try and rotate Walker and Corluka and there wouldn't be a problem.

There would be a huge problem. We lose a fast energetic influential player from our team for a slow incompetent nice guy who would cost us goals and effectively games.

Charlie done a good job for us, but we have moved beyond him now. I really dont understand the facination with him. He has been a liability everytime he has played since the beginning of last season.

Charlie is a hell of alot better defender than walker, he has never "cost us goals"

He might not be as attacking, but his far superior passing range means he is still effective in the opposition half

Walker is 21, you have to expect him not to be the finished article yet and inconsistent. I remember Campbell at the same age and he was the same (whatever way you feel about him he became one of the best defenders in the world), he's learning and we are winning.
Corluka is fantastic backup and I for one wouldn't worry if he had to start.
