Disagree. We've been playing like this for many years now ( haven't you noticed) and it works perfectly-as with possession we tier the opposition and save our energy, it's why we get a lot of late goals. What I would say is, when we slip at the back ,we need to be sure footed with our passing otherwise we do leave ourselves open to the high pressLloris made the key match winning contributions, so he was MOTM. But Winks is a gem of a player and a key player for us now.
Skipp and Llorente were quite poor, so it was hard to dominate when they were off the pace and Oliver being anti-Spurs.
But the problems of our own making were many today, especially a complacency that seemed to come from Poch as much as on the field. We rode our luck to get to 2-0, and then played pointless possession approach, which is a dead tactic in this day and age. Ambling sideways possession doesn't provide you with control, it leaves you open to the quick high counter-attack that is difficult to defend against. We shouldn't do it for tactical reasons as much as aesthetic ones.
