Lloris made the key match winning contributions, so he was MOTM. But Winks is a gem of a player and a key player for us now.

Skipp and Llorente were quite poor, so it was hard to dominate when they were off the pace and Oliver being anti-Spurs.

But the problems of our own making were many today, especially a complacency that seemed to come from Poch as much as on the field. We rode our luck to get to 2-0, and then played pointless possession approach, which is a dead tactic in this day and age. Ambling sideways possession doesn't provide you with control, it leaves you open to the quick high counter-attack that is difficult to defend against. We shouldn't do it for tactical reasons as much as aesthetic ones.
Disagree. We've been playing like this for many years now ( haven't you noticed) and it works perfectly-as with possession we tier the opposition and save our energy, it's why we get a lot of late goals. What I would say is, when we slip at the back ,we need to be sure footed with our passing otherwise we do leave ourselves open to the high press

Lucky win. Another poor performance, especially the second half, with the diamond formation that didn't get any better when we went to a back five. I'm written enough about my dislike for the diamond and a back five with a narrow midfield in front of them, so I won't reiterate what I've been saying other than I hope we go back to a 4231 asap.

Lloris 8 - Kept us in the title race.

Trippier 4 - All over the place in the first half. A bit better in the second half and he was decent enough with the ball.
Sancez 6 - Lost Evans at nearly every corner and didn't deal with crosses very well in general.
Vertonghen 7 - Thought the penalty was unlucky. Good overall.
Rose 6 - Most of the play came down the other side. Wasn't great in the last 10-15 minutes.

Sissoko 7 - Didn't cover himself in glory for the build up to the penalty, but overall he was good.
Winks 8 - Had a great first half. Tired a bit in the second with all the ground he had to cover.
Skipp 5 - Ok defensively but looked lost when we had it.

Eriksen 7 - Two great swings of a boot in an otherwise average game. Maybe I'm expecting too much? I don't think playing at the tip of a diamond works for him

Llorente 6 - His touch and link up play was better than previous games. Didn't really have any good chances.
Son 7 - Good movement. It can be tough on watching on TV without replays to know which of the offsides were his fault or the passers.

I gave my vote to Davinson. I thought he was excellent again. Trippier awful (for a change). Llorente is a lamppost. Sissoko and Winks were good. Lloris was solid today and it was great to see him finally save a penalty. Rose was pretty poor by his standards and Skipp looked a bit out of his depth. Son was offside the whole game but took his goal well. Vertonghen and Eriksen weren’t great, but weren’t bad either. Wanyama looks finished.

Weird game as quite a few played well sissoko and winks especially but as a whole we didn’t. Sorry to say that Skipp just isn’t ready offered very little.

I think skip played in the wrong position, he is going to get better but his more of a Scott Parker needs to be deeper.

Lloris for me kept us in the game. Can't believe how poorly people rate Eriksen who produced a great assist for our first goal and got the all important second with a goal out of nothing. Without Dele as well as Kane it's so great we have Eriksen and Son the fantastic four!

When you think a lot of these players have had injuries this season or playing without a break, you have applaud the results we grinding out. We were lucky AGAIN not to concede at least two goals. No idea what going on at the back but it needs fixing ASAP. Surely Dembele wasn't the glue holding our centre backs together!

Lloris 10 - we needed him today with our defence at sea and he really stepped up. Massive penalty save but the Barnes opportunity came with us on the ropes, and he didn't fluff his lines or rush out and give away a penalty. Saved us in that awful 5 minutes.
Trippier 6 - defensively exposed again, but in the ball he was good in possession and calm. We needed that from him but also need him defending better.
Sanchez 6 - important goal. Not sure what going on with the CBs but they are not in the same wavelength. I'm wondering if there is any issues of the field. They just seem to be getting worse each game in terms of working as a unit, but individually they are ok.
Verts 6 - same as above but obvs no goal. Never a penalty for me, especially after Sons appeal turned down and that was more blatant.
Rose 8 - very good going forward and played really well defensively. Really need someone on the right to give us more balance and options to compliment Rose.
Skipp 6 - did a job filling the gaps in the verge of the park but not sure if he was plugging gaps when the ball was in our final third. Seemed like it was winks covering him.
Winks 9 - brilliant today, on the ball, of the ball, winning the ball and just moving the ball around. Told my son he will actually get to see Xavi play.... Just picture Winks in a Barca shirt.
Sissoko 9 - man-beast was doing a job until 60 mins then really stepped up and showed more power. This was his best game on the ball, more like the French Sissoko we wanted to sign.
Eriksen 8 - vital goal. I thought he tried to look up a lot but really only had movement from Son. I guess that's where Skipp and Llorente are changing the way we play. And a beautiful assist.
Son 10 - loads of offsides and a few fluffed passes, but his running was a constant threat of we could release the ball. A few times he carried the ball away to relieve pressure. Should have had a penalty, scored a goal and kept running like a beast. He should be exhausted but right now he is delivering some crucial goals.
Llorente 6 - he didn't play bad but he want really involved much.

Subs
Toby 6
Wanyama 5 - lots of loose passes.

Lloris did brilliantly to save the penalty but really all his other saves including the Harvey Barnes shot, he should be saving.

Sanchez was quality and so was winks but Sissoko for me was immense.

He was the stand out player for us.
Really now? if this was Gazza between the sticks, them fanboys would be coming in their pants

Ugly win.
beautiful 3 points.
Ground it out.
Took our chances
rode our luck.

MOM Lloris (8) Easy saves mostly.
Right place right time
positioning and experience.
Winks and Sissoko (7) busy and effective.
Eriksen(7) not at his best but well good enough.
Rest 6+. Apart from Llorente and Skipp (6)

Title winning form
if not performance.

To be honest there was very little of that I liked. I was shouting at the TV throughout the 90 minutes at how poor all aspects of our game was. We didn't look like a switched on team ready to go to work and anywhere near 100% at it. No control, defensively we switched off numerous times to give them great openings, possession was used really badly - either poor passes or silly choices trying to force the play which often only ended in us aiding their counter attacks.

It wasn't helped either by some ultra harsh officiating that seemed to be giving Leicester a helping hand at every opportunity.

Somehow though we got to 2-0 up and you think at least we've got a win however bad it's been.

And then just when I thought this game was crap enough, we ended with some negative substitutions, and tried to go all out park the bus. All this did was invite pressure, several players switched off at this point (not that they'd particularly been switched on in the first place.....) and we somehow defended in a shape that left us exposed on the flanks. And we endured a nervy ending until getting a break in stoppage time.

Eventually we got to the win, it was a big three points, you cant always play to your best, but really that was total rubbish and we got a huge amount of luck. Any more games like that and we would get deservedly thrashed. Must be much better in midweek.

Lloris - Made some competent saves, including the penalty.

Trippier - Some nice involvements with the ball, also guilty of switching off badly numerous times - especially in the first half.

Sanchez - Ok.

Vertonghen - Ok, but one of those who badly switched off in the latter stages.

Rose - Was ok, but messed up a few promising positions and he cant always try to cut inside - professional footballers will start to anticipate this eventually...... Was a bit exposed late on and got done for the goal (not all his fault though).

Sissoko - Not great for 60-70 mins, use of the ball was ultra safe and he too switched off badly on the right flank a few times. Was better towards the end when he had a couple of opportunities to carry the ball and relieve pressure.

Winks - Mostly was one of the plus points for this game. However when he was once again asked to play as a side midfielder in the latter stages I thought he started to struggle badly.

Skipp - Didn't have a great impact, but worked hard enough and for the most part helped keep that flank secure. Also got in a half block chasing a lost cause that led to the second goal. I think we should be mindful he was playing in an unfamiliar role as a side midfielder in the diamond, and as I say I thought Winks struggled when he played that role so it's not as if it's only him who struggles with it.

Eriksen - Honestly thought that bar the two lovely bits of play that grabbed him a goal and assist he was really poor. Some sloppy play with the ball and in recent weeks he's started to become much less diligent with his off the ball work which is then putting others in midfield under pressure. Thanks for those two moments, reminders of his class, but a bit more consistency please. Has to step it up a bit in the next few weeks.

Son - Not great really. Was very wasteful in promising moments. Tucked away the final goal well though.

Llorente - Some neat hold up play, and was involved in the second goal, but didn't really get into the game much. Did work quite hard by his standards dropping back in though and doing some defensive work.

Subs:
Alderweireld - This was maybe a logical sub to get an extra centre half on given how open we looked, somehow we managed to look far worse.

Wanyama - Didn't see the point of this sub, he looks a couple of stone overweight and like he needs several weeks and games getting back to fitness - probably in the U23's. Wasn't a situation to throw him back into.

KWP - n/a.

Good display to grind out another win. Lloris, Winks and Sissokko excellent and thought Son never stopped but we need to look at getting a new right back.

Not often see 3-1 win and the away side had so many chances they should of drawn at least, intresting the XG they were expected 2.76 to our 1.21, but when you consider the chances Barnes missed coupled with Pen save from Lloris, amazing how we won

Lloris mom by a mile

Heads held high
Winks
Sanchez
Rose
Eriksen
Son
Sissoko

The rest average at best

Hugo

We were at sea today and lost the midfield completely. We are not winning the ball back quick enough or being aggressive enough in midfield.

We were lucky Leicester are not up to much a better team would have panned us.

Anyway, eriksen and son again to the rescue.

Wanyama is gone, sadly.

Lloris for being amazing.

Sissoko was imperious. Especially late when we needed a leader.

Winksy... Every now and again he does something that makes you think "we've got a genuine superstar on the build here".

Hugo obviously, dumbfucks

But Sissoko and Winks are forging a decent partnership in midfield. A more experienced player with the ability to control the tempo in place of Skipp would have made us more dominant. But the boy has to learn his craft so he needs game time and he got it today.

Back to Winks and Sissoko; their running today was exceptional. Made the difference between a team not playing well and losing and a team not playing well and winning. And that, dear fuckos, is virtually fucking priceless in the Freud taxonomy of fan mental well-being

Lloris was awesome and MOM.
Winks gets praise from me and was our best midfielder, but Sissoko grew into it and was fantastic in the 2nd half.
Son tired but kept going and deserved his goal.
Strange tactics from Poch but we won despite a shocking refereeing performance from Oliver.
Kane and Dele cannot get fit quick enough!

Very lucky to win that game. Leicester botched numerous great openings.

Take the win and pray Kane/Alli get back soon. You just feel that we can’t keep riding our luck and grinding out results.

Aside from Lloris heroics, Winks was outfield MOM by a mile for about the fourth game in a row. The defensive side of his game is coming on leaps and bounds, again led the way with tackles, recoveries and interceptions. Holding our central midfield together single handedly at present. Hopefully Vic can string a few games together now.

Roll on Dortmund.
