And there is something in BC's complaint re Dier and that goal . The shot practically runs over his foot..it appears he's almost trying to avoid getting in the way . Just a bit strange to see ..

We do need another CB in the summer but I doubt he'd move on, I think he'd give it a year. We will have a lot of games to play and he will feature in 30 either at CB or Dcm.

But I do have some sympathy with him on the decisive goal in that it's very difficult in the split second to decide whether to stick your leg out and risk a deflection that takes the keeper out or let it go past in expectation that a shot stopper like Lloris would save most from that range. It's reflex, instinct. The main problem was we had too many players in the box, not sparing one to keep Hazard company on the edge. Daft, perhaps we'd forget he'd actually come on.

Conceding just before half time, when we'd just dominated them entirely for about half an hour and were massively in the ascendancy, was a huge moment in the tie. Can't see how anyone can deny that.
We came back after 5 minutes in the 2nd half, the 3rd goal was clearly the decisive one.

thought they all played well, and showed a lot of character coming from behind twice. Dembele my MOTM.

The Son thing was one that would make Poch look like a genius if it worked, but in retrospect if Davies really wasnt 100% Id have played Verts on the left. Even forgetting about the defending, we need Son more forward because we only have 4 players that are a reliable attacking threat and he is one of them.

Im disappointed but not bitter - I always figured this would be a tough one for us with having to chase them in the league and our injuries.

It was an odd choice to try out something completely new in a game like this. The boys played well in general. And I don't blame Son for being out of sorts. He is and never will be a wing back. Poch owes his team an apology for that decision. Which to me felt like a weird need to not drop Dier. Which is what should've happened. But if playing three at the back, I would have gone with Trips on the left. A lot less risky. Also, when he did move to the left, I thought he did well. Gives us a different look, when he cuts inside to produce an inswinging cross from the left.
I would give most of the players a seven. Son a four. Dier a six. Lloris was a bit off as well yesterday.

Poch gets a six. Took an unusual risk, at the wrong time. We had a team performing very well over the last month playing a more traditional 4-2-3-1. Why fix something that wasn't broke? Really annoys me.

Chelsea are the masters of dismantling good footballing teams in cup competitions. They are the anti football epitome, there are a necessary foe I believe, though. Also, ask Barca about their opinion of Chelsea.

They are scum. And a lot of times scum fucking win. But they'll get found out. We still have a chance to steal the title.

the thing is, if Son didnt give away that pen nobody would be complaining about his performance as a defender. They didnt create shit from open play until after Son went off and they brought on Costa and Hazard.

Son didn't do too much wrong apart from the pen. I don't see Toby being ripped into for the first goal. Son is an easy target I guess.

I can understand it from Diers point of view. Speed of the ball, his position, own goal written all over it. Plus it hit the side netting so it's possible he was thinking it was going wide.

He was very complimentary about us. Said that England should be very proud of such a magnificent game played by two great teams - or words to that effect.

the thing is top CB's take the chance of throwing their everything into block an effort, and not putting pressure on the keeper.

I prefer Dier when he plays in midfield, and the trouble there is he is competing with Wanyama, even though he stepped in recently and performed well
