Weak, spineless, shite. Townsend doesn't even try anything, just runs and turns back and passes. Never thought I'd say it but I miss his long shots, at least tried to do something. Erisken was decent. Thought Bentaleb was MOTM. Chadli awful. Kane selfish a few times but not great service. Rose decent.

Bentaleb or Rose.

Chadli was awful (as usual) and i thought Walker was too soft. Rose I never liked but some of the performances he puts in really make me like him. He shows determination and willingness to want to win!

Just wasn't our day. We played well first half, 2nd half we just lacked the final ball.

Bentaleb played well. Rose did alright too. Hugo can't really be faulted.

I think Dembele should have started over Mason, who seems more suited towards clashes with teams in the bottom half of the league.

Ultimately the cracks were exposed yet again. Mark Kane with 2 CBs and put someone physical on Eriksen and Spurs have no hope of scoring a goal. The other attacking players are just not nearly good enough. Townsend, Lamela, and even now Chadli who has lost all form are just never going to threaten a defense. Mourinho probably pissed himself laughing when we subbed on Soldado and Lamela trying to change the game.

Don't blame anyone. They were just better overall. We have had two players who carried us through this season, Mourinho marked them out of the game, and the deficiencies were exposed. Bit inexperienced in defense, not nearly good enough in attack. Very similar to how we played under AVB, to be perfectly honest.

And don't tell me this is kneejerk because I've been posting the same thing for the past month. We need to improve. Clear out deadwood in summer and hopefully buy some decent players with Mitchell and our new scouting system. Season is done as I'd say we have a less than 10% chance of bettering Arsenal/Lpool over the rest of the season, the team is just not good enough. How we were playing prior to Kane and now again in the last two weeks is much more representative of where we are under Poch than our great month of January.

Bentaleb had a very good game, looked comfortable throughout. I think we were let down by the wide players today, they just didn't provide enough. In fact, I think it's our major problem as a team right now.

Lloris- Didn't have to do much

Walker- I thought he dealt well with Hazard, and he got unlucky for the second goal. Fair play to him playing the 2nd half despite having some sort of injury. Funny how people curse his apparent poor-ness but shit themselves when it looks like he's coming off. One of our better performers IMO.

Dier- Meh.

Vertonghen- Meh

Rose- Worked very hard but nothing came off.

Mason- Nothing good, nothing bad. Another meh performance from our team.

Bentaleb- Outstanding IMO- MOTM

Townsend- Poor. I really thought him playing at Wembley would mean he could really perform well, but he did, unfortunately, the square root of fuck all

Eriksen- Very unlucky with his free kick, was constantly looking to create chances, but Chelsea defended well and Zouma was clearly instructed to stop him at all costs, so he had little influence on the game

Chadli- Very disappointing- Gave away the free kick for the 1st goal and was just as ineffective as Townsend on the right. As I said in the match thread, he's not been the same since his leave.

Kane- Worked hard as always, but Chelsea kept him quiet. He's the future though, and hopefully he'll play many more finals with us.

Subs:
Dembele- Meh- Probably should've started instead of Mason or Chadli. The only thing Pochettino got wrong with his starting XI IMO- but I won't be surprised if people suddenly complain about the team selection, without having said anything when it was announced

Lamela- Shit as always because he's Lamela. Am I right? (On a serious note, he did more than Chadli and Townsend, not that this was particularly hard to achieve). He'll somehow get blamed though.

Soldado- N/A

In summary, too much 'meh' in our team.

Thought Mason, Bentaleb, Verts, Eriksen and Dier were ok on the whole.

Chadli was anonymous and Townsend was pointless, was saying before the game that I dint think either of them should start. Not only were they quite poor offensively, neither press that well or read situations defensively.

But anyways, Onwards and hopefully some silverware next year (y)

Funnily I actually thought Soldado offered quite a bit compared to others with just a few minutes on the pitch, although thats not saying much.

Thought Bentaleb and Rose were the stand outs. Eriksen was dropping too deep and ruining the shape, leaving Kane devoid of service. Chadli and Townsend were dreadful. The shape wasn't right today. We were never going to be able to beat them playing the same tactics as the 5-3 league game; 4-2-3-1 was totally wrong today.

Thing is, this team will only get better. We didn't win today but I do reckon that if we continue to progress we'll be winning trophies in the not too distant future.

We got beaten by a bunch of seasoned professionals coached to win a specific game..

there is no shame in a young team losing that way for the first time, next season we'll have em

Bentaleb - MOTM
rest - good try, but more to do

Disappointing I know but to get here is a fantastic achievement for such a young and unbalanced team. Poch is the guy to stick with, and there is a few in this team we cannot sell. Chelsea are tactically better than us, we have almost relied on gut and passion to get us where we are this season, and we have to keep going. It's been a rubbish week, but a far better season then anyone could of ever expected.

There was nothing unlucky about it at all.. Walker was standing five feet behind the rest of the defensive line when ball was played to Costa... if he had any positional sense or defensive awareness he would do what he has been coached to do and keep a defensive line with the rest of the back 4.. as is he gave them a cheap goal & no amount of coaching can eradicate stupidity

Think Bentaleb was MOTM and our team will be built round him.

Would have started Dembele instead of Mason but hindsight and all that.

Bentaleb 8
Whole Defence 7's ( I know we lost, but apart from two scruffy deflected goals, thought the defence played okay, especially considering performances going into final.)
Everybody else 6.
