Personally:

Friedel: 7 MOTM - Made some good saves, much to my suprise.

Naughton: 5 - Makes me wonder whether right back really is his "preferred" position. Shades of Maicon vs Bale crossed my mind.
Dawson: 7 - Made some good blocks and actually did OK.
Jan: 5 - Gave away a cheap penalty (which was kind of soft) by getting skinned.
Rose: 6 - Huffed and puffed but didn't get much done.
Capoue: 5 - Leggy, messy performance.
Bentaleb: 5 - His worst performance in a Spurs shirt thus far.
Paulinho: 6 - Should have had an assist for Soldado. Another game where he "ghosts" through much of it not doing much.
Chadli: 4 - Did he play in that second half?
Townsend: 4 - Old fashioned performance. Just ran the line, very head-down and immature.
Soldado: 5 - Some nice touches and link-up play, but his miss cost us.

No, that was rape, Konoplyanka vs Naughton was assault

Friedel - 8.5 - MOTM, no mistakes, only a lucky pen beat him.

Rose - 6.5 - Ran a lot and was ever present but not always great decision making.
Vertonghen - 5 - Didn't look like he wanted to be there.
Dawson - 5 - Couple of good moments but also at fault on the goal and beaten a couple of other times.
Naughton - 5 - Did reasonable well against Konoplyanka and actually won it off of him several times, but was beaten rather consistently towards the end. Didn't offer much else.

Capoue - 6 - Pretty solid, not great though.
Bentaleb - 5 - Tim needs to give him a rest, similar to what AVB was doing to Paulinho.
Paulinho - 7.5 - One of the only sparks out there, ran a lot and did well in offense and defense.

Townsend - 3.5 - Didn't really get a thing right tonight, he knows it. Will be better, just a poor poor game for him.
Soldado - 8 - Brilliant linkup play, through balls, flicks, touches, etc. Basically responsible for any time that we had a chance. Horrible miss though, even with a bobble. So close to coming through tonight, he's got way too much class to "flop" though. Goalie was lucky to save his header and the left footed volley (another show of technique/ability) looked as if it was going in too.
Chadli - 4.5 - Was excellent for 10 minutes, after that I forgot he was even on the field.

Eriksen - 6 - Offered a lot more than Townsend (which wasn't tough tonight) but bad set pieces and nothing really cutting edge.
Kane - NET - Wish we could see him partnered with Soldado, two players that can really set up a chance.

Poor display from our widemen, very little creativity in midfield, and a shocking pitch. Piss poor afternoon overall.

Friedel MoM

Defence, what defence?

Capoue, Bentaleb - meh

Paulinho, decent in spells

Chadli, poor

Townsend, shocking

Soldado, awful miss but some decent link up play

Dire performance but crisp, passing football was impossible on such a poor pitch.

Expect a comfortable home win next week.

Friedel man of the match, Paulinho and Soldado were best of the rest barring Soldados awful miss, the rest awful.

Have to mention Townsend, I know he wants to stand out, but he doesn't give a crap about passing to anyone else, apart from head down and run or shoot from 60 yards out, through 10 players etc. his last one was a disgrace, you could see the reactions from his team mates how disgusted and shocked they were.

Given the lack of game time brad and soldado have had recently I thought they were both up there, can't separate them.
If I could have bought soldado a goal though I would have...
As for the rest, excluding daws who won 15742477 headers it was pretty bang average from everyone else.

Friedel 7.5 kept us in it a few times.

Nauthon 6 did ok but a couple of shaky moments against koonoplyanka (SP)

Dawson 7 couple of great blocks and some decent reduced punts in field to players’ feet.

Jan 6.5 ok bar the penalty

Rose 6, too rash for a surface like this need more composure

Townsend 5 greed personified.

Chadli 6.5 ok should have done better with the chance from Kane’s flick.

Capoue 5.5 laboured in the middle and numerous poor touches and passes astray.

Paulinho 6 as above, but better, although should have done better from Dawson’s ball in which he totally missed.

Bentaleb 6.5 the better of the CM trio some neat touches and passes but still some went astray (as did most players)

Soldado 7.5 MOM. His link up play and touches were sublime. As for the miss, there were about 200+ poor touches or first time passes in the match due to the pitch, this was another one that is highlighted due to where it is on the pitch. (Chadli and Paulinho missed the easier chances as they were in the air the whole time.)

Kind of extraordinary that Dawson " was at fault for the goal" yet no mention of it in your appraisal of Vertonghen .

It's easy to rate most performances from Tottenham. They all follow the same format.....

All the English lads - crap.
Foreigners - tend to range from half decent to good.

I'm at a loss to what any member of Spurs' coaching staff continue to see in Dawson, Naughton and Townsend. I just give up. Townsend is literally still playing U10's football. I could go to any local field on the weekend and see Andros Townsend's. Dribble, dribble, shoot. Dribble, dribble, lose the ball. Dribble, dribble, shoot. Repeat ad nauseum. Every Dawson performance is a horror film whilst Naughton is just an average player. It's relentless.

Friedel was MOM by far. Gets an 8 from me. Soldado did well, 7 from me. Eriksen did okay when he came on, 6 from me. Paulinho did okay, 6 also. Everyone else was shit, they get 4s. Townsend was worse than shit, gets a 0 from me. Absolutely horrific display. I dont think he did anything than can even be construed as remotely positive today.

Freidel - 8 - saved us from a worse score line
Rose - 6 - got forward well but final ball often let him down
Vertonghen -4 - terrible performance constantly skinned, looked nervy, gave the ball away
Dawson - 6 - looked like he was defending on his own half the time
Naughton - 7 - our best outfield player, solid, good passing didnt get beaten by whatsisface
Capoue -4 - a dm is meant to shield the back for not constantly invite pressure by giving the ball away then saunter back when they are on the break - terrible
Bentaleb - 6 - neat and tidy, our best midfielder
Paulinho - 5 - not his best game gave the ball away a lot
Chadli - 5 - may as well have been playing with 10 men
Soldado - 4 - fuck me no movement, offered nothing and missed an absolute sitter which ultimately cost us defeat and a lack of an away goal
Townsend - 4 - pathetic selfish performance shooting from impossible ranges and angles which just gave the ball away

Eriksen - 7 - added some much needed class
Kane -5 - too little time

What don't you like @Francis Gibbs .. that I haven't joined your blind Soldado vendetta?

Because he's a sad fat old man, that's has a Soldado radar on 24'7 to dislike or neg rep any positive thing written about Soldado.
Never known how a fan goes so much out of his way to constantly revel in a spurs player going through a tough spell and want to fail, just so he can be proved right, embarrassing and sad.
