Point 3 is the only one which matters to us now. Basically if Roma miss out on CL we're in pot 2.so we need either Atalanta or Milan to finish above them ext weekend.

Could be sorted tonight if Atalanta beat Juve away.

And if Atalanta can dig out a point at Juve then it’s pretty much done and dusted, assuming Inter don’t lose big today. Roma would have to overturn a -12 GD on the final weekend to Atalanta, and depending on what happens with Inter today, Roma may or may not be able to catch them.

So far so good. Atalanta are leading Juve by a goal and there’s about 2 mins to go before HT.

CL OR PL
As someone once said......THE GAME IS ABOUT GLORY.
nothing more glorious than a last minute Harry Kane goal to win the Champions League. Only just beats Alan Nielsen last minute diving header to win the league cup
The champ lge seems far more important to the continentals . Poss because their leagues are not that competitive. As Bayern 7 in a row and Juve 8 in a row might suggest.

The league beats the CL - hands down.

The CL is more glamorous but the league is a sign that your team has been consistent and strong throughout a nine month period.

Having said that if we win the CL... it may look better to potential recruits.

If Roma win and Inter lose on the last day. We'll be pot 3
Nope cos Inter are 3 points ahead, and even if they lost and Roma won, as their head-to-head record is the same, it would go to goal difference and Inter have a +6 goal difference and play 17th placed Empoli at home.

I think...

Champions of England or Champions of Europe?

CL is significantly more prestigious and it's harder to win as you're up against Europe's Elite sides.

I’d love to see us win the league in my lifetime, as it’s the peak of domestic football. Champions League would just be something else entirely though, as it’s without doubt the peak of club football, and arguably the peak of football in general.

I do love the World Cup, but international teams will never be as good as top clubs with a mix of the best internationals.

This is by far the most significant match Spurs have played in the modern era. Just getting to the final is the stuff of dreams. Winning it would be the stuff of legend.

I totally understand the CL thing and you know what it would be unreal as its what I have dreamed of all my life... THFC win the CL - fuckin hell

But the league is 38 games, home and away, night and day, ran and sun, injuries and suspensions etc - yet you come through all that and win the league? thats pretty damn huge.

The CL is more a romantic competition and makes you feel damn giddy.

You’re right, but to get to the CL you have to finish top 4 facing all the same conditions you describe. Winning the CL would essentially be a glorious extension of the previous league season.
