They are going to be scrapping for every available point. There aren’t any gimmies from here until the end of the season.

Disagree there’s absolutely no way they will play strongest teams all 3 games.

they will play the strongest XI available for every game they play. they played a strong XI (not full strength) v us in the cup, and they will do in the League until they are safe. if they beat Watford on Saturday morning they will have a semi final after we play them, if they reach the semi's and beat Huddersfield then they might risk it, providing Cardiff don't cause a shock home result v Chelsea

Lets clear our heads and go again,we are in a bad run but still in a great position, and with a near full fit squad and ffs surely the boost of going back to the lane, we will be ok imo.

The season is 38 games and we are where we are over 30 so far, not the last 4.

If you offer me 3rd and CL qrter finals at this time next season i would snap your hands off...

We want Palace to win this weekend because if they do I think we play them 3/4 days before an FA Cup semi final. They'll definitely rest players for our game if they've got that.

(So obviously Watford will win against them at the weekend)

Why not play the red Scousers like we did away to BVB.
Sit back and defend and hit them on the break.
Yes we had some luck out there but we did organise and play well in that game.

Still think Liverpool are a tad fortunate to be where they are. They looked awful before 1st goal against Burnley. And they literally got gifted every goal by awful defending. Personally don’t think they are that much better than us if at all. It’s such fine lines had that OG not hit post on Saturday we’d have been 2-0 and probably cruised it.

I think this was the player's thinking at half time and why we were so poor second half.

Agree... And don't believe all the shit about the scum, had MU took half their chances it would have been a defeat for sure.
Top 4 i still believe will be us and MU, the scum are shit away and will be found out and put back in their box very soon.

I can't remember the exact wording, but do we only play Palace on the 3rd if they and Brighton both win. I know we have 2 dates for Palace, but can't remember what needs to happen exactly to play on the 3rd

edit: just checked we only play Palace, if Brighton win. so both winning might be better as Palace might feel safer by then if results go their way and want to field their strongest XI for an FA Cup semi

I think you are being generous to us. Liverpool have lost once all season in the league, we have lost 9 times. They have also played some great football (at times) smashing some teams along the way. I struggle to remember too many great performances from us this season in the league (Old Trafford and home to Chelsea stand out), but we have rarely cruised past teams this year unlike in previous years. We're labouring, and have been all year.

I’m struggling to remember that many great performances by Liverpool ? Arsenal 5-1 after that I’m struggling. Unless you wanna count Bournemouth Watford etc and we can stack up with Everton Chelsea United Bournemouth etc. Pochettino preferring not to draw has probably cost us 6 pts at least.

Liverpool were in very good form up to the turn of the year. Since then they've laboured, but the strong defense has still helped them grind out points and avoid defeats.

We're well capable of playing out a draw up there but can't see us winning it.

Have we ever set out like this in a game against the top 6 in the league? I remember when we played a similar game away to Madrid in the CL and thought that we'd found the formula for big games like so but we didn't really set out like that again.

Which is why we really don't need to draw them in CL today. The next game at Anfield will be hard enough. Their experience and honours in Europe says it all. They're better now.

A tough draw for United would be perfect considering they are still in FA cup as well. They basically won’t have a free mid week till end of season.

I think European games could have a big impact on top 4.

Liverpool have an easy draw so likely to be in the CL for another couple of weeks or so.
We play City twice and they'll definitely want to progress in CL so will play a strong team (not that it makes much difference).
United have a tough CL tie which I think they'll want to try and make a statement in.

Then, in the Europa League, Arsenal have Napoli. I think they're going to go all out for the Europa League and Napoli are the toughest team left in the competition bar Chelsea, so that should use up a lot of Arsenal's energy and effort. They play Everton, Watford, and Crystal Palace before/after/before the two ties.
Chelsea have a relatively 'easy' draw vs Slavia Prague but this means they'll likely be in the competition until the end - again bodes well for us if City knock us out.

Arsenal Chelsea United all horrendous fixtures around the European games. Plus United May have an FA cup semifinal. At least we have Palace h Huddersfield h Brighton h West Ham h in April.
