:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

We could be in sparkling Barcelona form or squiffy Barnet form, and either way Poch is going to Anfield setting us up to press high and beat them at their own "dominate possession and play in their half" game. Regardless of whether it works or not. Which, at Anfield, it usually doesn't. :nailbiting:

(I mean, I totally agree with you, at Liverpool we should absolutely look to sit deep and play on the break, but there's next to no chance of that happening.)
Still a massive flaw in Poch's managerial makeup - his tactical naivety away at rivals.

Yeah would be ridiculous to write off Anfield. We should have won their last year and with the pressure could really kill them. Also could play into our hands how desperate they will be for a win a points no good.

Get Dele back on the pitch and we're good.

Absolutely essential to us getting top 4.

On Saturday, we failed to get enough bodies into the box. Son was often out wide and Harry was covered by their CBs. Nobody was making runs into the box. In the last two games we have had just three attempts on target - the Eriksen/Sissoko double attempt and Harry's penalty. We need Deli to be making the runs to free up space for Harry and Son.

The way we are playing, I'm worried about the games against Southampton, West Ham and, especially, Palace. They all seem to be running into form.

Strange really, when you look at our overall European away record against the big clubs. Not lost in visits to Madrid, Juve, Barca and Dortmund. Okay, only one win out of the four, but from what I remember the performances themselves were decent.

Just to say compared to exact same point last season. We are a position higher have 3 more pts and in a miles better position going into our CL last 16 game.

Whilst we're 3 pts ahead, the top 6 this time around is much more competitive. Last year's performance is a bit irrelevant. We need to find our form to get top 4. We're ahead right now so it's ours to lose.

I think we will scrape 4th. We have gone off the boil at the wrong time with the rivals behind us hitting top form. Skeaky bum time

All you can do season on season is hope to improve your points total which we’ve done. Until a week ago we had the best away record in the whole of Europe imagine if we actually had our own stadium.

I think Kane's return destabilised us. Whether that was all the other players taking a breather and thinking that Kane is back now, winning will be easier, or some structural issues with the areas he and Son occupy I'm not sure.

The latter IMO

Disagree I think it’s the first. It’s a natural human response in any walk of life. When you think something is now OK you relax and don’t try quite as hard. Might only be 5% but that’s enough. Hopefully the last week was a wake up call that Kane doesn’t make everything ok.

Not a chance mate. He's the scapegoat for so bloody many
I'll admit, I've always thought Dier has a mistake in him so never truly been trusted. That said, in the last few games I see what a fit, sharp Dier could offer.

It's amazing what that slide tackle for England has done for how I view him now ?????

Perhaps. But let's not kid ourselves. We weren't playing sublime football while Kane was out. In his absence we very narrowly beat Fulham (a), Watford (h) and Newcastle (h) and were fortunate against Leicester (h). We rode our luck in practically all of those games. Kane's return has coincided with what has proved to be a more difficult run of matches. I think the most you can say is that we have looked as poor with Kane in the team as we did without him.

Third in the league also last 16 of the champions league I guess thats poor to some but to me its a fantastic over achievement.
As to changing the way we play all I can say is we have had a series of managers who have altered the way we play to adjust to the opposition. What has been the most refreshing thing about Poch is that from day one he has sent the team out to win not to stifle the opponents or sit back and hit on the break or put an xtra defensive line up because the other team has a great attack.
No he has sent our boys out to be on the front foot and try to win it is something that has given us an identity that being a team that always meets teams head on with a brave outlook and we have not done to bad in my eyes.
And when I think of the master at changing the way we play (AVB) I am grateful to Poch for always sending us out with the team going out to win and on the front foot I admit we sometimes fall short but at least we are trying to win.
I don't want to go back to play a clever different ways and still lose .
