8 and 10 is if we draw, as I'm sure you know. I went with that as I see tomorrow as more of a 'must not lose' rather than 'must win'.
Sure, I'm with you. I guess I am only thinking about winning to keep in distance of the top.

One game at a time, anything can happen in football. I’m optimistic but let’s not fall into the trap of being expectant.

If we beat United, I feel that's top4 secured for us. So naturally I'm expecting anxious short passing round the back between LLoris, Vert and Davies.

I want to like this but I don't want to jinx things.

Importantly it also means that if the title doesn't look like happening we could perhaps properly try for a cup or three.

I think we could still be in the race till at least the beginning of March because after Utd we have Fulham (a), Watford (h), Newcastle (h), Leicester (h), Burnley (a) before Chelsea (a) at the end of Feb. The Burnley match may move should we reach the Carabao final. We also have Dortmund (h) after Leicester.

I think we'll beat Palace in the FA Cup so need to get past Dortmund to remain in CL and we can then take stock after the 1st week of March (have Arse on 2nd March, then Dortmund and S'ton).

I think we're looking a bit too far ahead really. It's perfectly conceivable that we'll be eight or nine points behind by tomorrow evening, at which point it's very unlikely indeed. Just if we do happen to reach, say, the time of the Dortmund tie and hopefully the LC final while 9 points behind Liverpool and 9 ahead of 5th, I'd like to see us priortise the cups for a change.
