Think I read we have also earn't over 100 mill for reaching Champions League final and this is before player sales, there is no excuse for not spending this summer when our loan repayments are supposedly around about 50 million a year and our stadium will be bringing in about double that a year.

Ay least our TV coverage games are on par. Incredible Liverpool have had all but 9 of their games shown

I’ve heard a rumour. That spurs players have to travel via south mimms service station in order to get into the group stages. Can anyone confirm???

If any 2 of the above happen, we would be pot 2.[/QUOTE]
Too much still up in the air right now. If we win we are in pot 1. If we lose, depends on:

1. Chelsea beat Arsenal in Europa final
2. Sevilla don't make the CL (currently 2 points out in 6th)
3. Porto don't win the league, and lose out in qualifiers/playoffs
4. Roma don't make the CL (currently 3 points out in 6th)

If any 2 of the above happen, we would be pot 2.
Unfortunately, Roma beat Juve tonight by there are still two rounds left so we need to root for Inter tomorrow as well as AC Milan and Atalanta the three of which could take those last couple of spots but are below us in coefficient ranking.

If Kane is on 200k a week then he will have earned about 10m since signing his new contract. People are talking about 250m from all our PL and CL money but one player takes up 4% of that. Throw in the rest of the squads wages and all other costs and you can see that prize money is not the same as summer pocket money.

No but when you combine it with ticket sales, merchandise, player outgoing and other streams of revenue, it stands to reason we have money to spend.

Completely agree. I can see the narrative turning taking a simplistic prize money in -> transfer fees out turn. As long as we avoid that ..

Yeah, the beautiful thing about the Champions League additional money however is that it won't have been taken into account as part of our expenditure so hopefully it can be put into the team. You'd imagine the league money will have been taken into account though.

You can look at it that way, you could
however also say what could we have done had we signed players?
The new players may have taken playing time from Sissoko and Moura and we may have finished 5th and lost in in the semis of EL after finishing 3rd in CL group stage. Just because we signed someone does not mean that we would have definitely done better. Lets applaud the job we are doing this year.

Agree. There will have been some baseline assumption from CL. Group stage? 2nd round? But 10s millions earned above that!

But we have to assume there are bonuses paid out to the players, tied to us reaching the final/winning the CL as well.

might not have a return flight included:cautious:

anyway as everybody knows the rules now, can I change my signature yet:whistle:

I think we will have money to spend. It was interesting to note that poch mentioned that it wasn't all about spending or not spending on terms of changing the way that we operate. He may be referring to getting business done earlier. He always talks about how long it takes players to adapt and get fit, so it must be hugely frustrating having to wait to get players in.

He probably wants Levi to agree the targets and then just go and get them.

I wonder if any pundits will actually have us in their predictions for top 4 next season or if they'll continue to underestimate us.
My money is on the latter.

Transfers aside, a well earned rest for the players and a full season in our new stadium should give us a good platform to retain top 4 next season

Just curious, what is meant by the games on TV? Because in some regions all matches of the EPL are shown live. 380 of them in the entire season. Aren't they all on TV?

Games shown live in the UK by BT sport or Sky.....outside of the UK we do get get all the games dependent on bidding rights won by networks in those regions.
