Realistically we couldn't have wished for a better season so far except that loss on pens

I'm so fucking excited at the moment, this 10 day break is great for us and not only are we closer to having the fittest squad we've had all season with Kane, Dele, Dier and Davies returning soon but them being injured has allowed for example Llorente to get some much much needed match fitness, along with a couple of other fringe players like Moura and Foyth. Even Skipp got some experience.

Not only is our first 11 going to finally be the strongest it's been all season but our bench is going to be ticking and ready to contribute. Just hope Dele/Kane can get matchfit quickly.

I feel like we are in this weird position that there is very little expectation beyond finishing top4 and it's freeing for the team and it reflects in the performances where we're not playing under so much intense pressure. I'm trying to find the right way to articulate it and failing.

It's weird, we're comfortably 3rd at the moment. Not embroiled in a battle for 4th, but close enough to get within touching distance of the top two. We're in between both just plodding along nicely.

Hopefully Guardiola buggers off sooner rather than later. He generally doesn't stay anywhere too long but it's hard to see where he'd go post-City unless he just sails off into the sunset and quits football for good.

With him at the helm and their absurd squad/wages I find it hard to see us winning the league in the next few seasons.

You are absolutely correct, I love where this team has been lately. A consecutive top 4/top3/CL team is an amazing achievement, and it should be celebrated equal to an one-off trophy


It's not spirit. It's just facts. Probability is low. At this point. We'll see how it looks in a couple of weeks.

But I will say, the destiny of this years final league standing is all in our own hands. We are reliant on nothing or nobody but ourselves. NOW, THAT'S spirit.

Too true. And in fact what will happen is that due to illegal use of performance enhancing drugs, all other teams will be disqualified and we win the FA cup, too.

had we not lost Kane, Alli and Son all at the same time Id expect to be in both cups still. but yes, given that bit of incredibly bad luck we have done well.

That loss to Palace means we get a 9 day break before Burnley. Blessing in disguise perhaps.
