Kane and Dier have both recently said in the press that they want to win trophies with this squad in the near future, or it will feel like a great waste.

No mention of finishing top 4.

We've got the squad to achieve both, and that's what we should be aiming at.

The mentally of "either / or" needs to stop.

league position is the most important. while winning a fa cup makes you happy, it doesnt progress a club like CL does.

ideal situation is always to go all into the league, make damn sure you get top 4 everyyear and become a cl regular.

we will get kick out for coupla years but because we are in the CL we will be a constant draw for top tier players. keep challenging the league title, maintain cl advantage, inch forward by slowly upgrading our squad. takes a few years but eventually with smart additions, we will have a full squad that can compete and rotate between both the league and cl

I'd say it goes without saying that they want CL football on a regular basis.

Its imperative that Chelsea lose their next two games and we win our next two. Then its down to two points and then game on!

Depends on which Liverpool turn up if it's the one that gets up for the big games then yes Chelsea could drop points, but if it's the one that faced Swansea then forget it.

That is just not true - yet.

We don't have 20 players who are 1st team caliber. We are close, but we need to wait for the revenue stream of repeated CL spots and the new stadium to afford the wages necessary for that kind of depth.
You think any team does?

Liverpool have been like that all season though. Unbeaten against the top six, and flaky in games against the minnows.

I can see Liverpool having a reaction to losing to Swansea, similar to Man City's post-Everton reaction, plus they tend to play above themselves in games against the top six teams. Can't see Arsenal winning at Stamford Bridge though.

I think we're all chasing second anyway. If they beat Pool and the Goons they will be pretty well home and hosed.

Yeah but what if they don't?

It would be great but we still have to close the current gap by doing the business ourselves. I think our best chance was Costa going to China on deadline day so they can't replace him.

There's 16 games left so 48 points to play for. If we go on a run we are more than capable of catching Chelsea. All the teams are capable of dropping silly points as well. If we get to 9-10 games left with about 4 points in it then it's still all to play for so they don't have to lose the next two.

Poch has to get the lads to win our games and let the rest take care of themselves. There's no point trying to analyse where anyone might drop points as results always surprise us. If Chelsea maintain their form they will win it but they may have a bad run - a few draws in a row and they may get a bit nervous.

Just enjoy the ride. We're up there again fighting.
