I hope it's ok to do a thread of this nature but having fought my way through the jungle of drop Keane threads recently I just had to post this and felt it better to do as a thread!

A lot of people have called for Keano to be dropped over the past few months but I think he is now joint 3rd top scorer in the league? (could be wrong as haven't re-double-checked but he's at least near the top).

Also, I run a fantasy football league using the Daily Telegraph rules and he was the top scoring forward last week with a grand total of 60 points!

These points are for goals, assists, appearances and man of the match so he can't have been too shabby for us eh?

Again, apologies if this a bit against the grain at the moment with new coach, etc, but as a loyal supporter of Keano I just felt I had to post this to show what a class player he is!

Well there's already a thread about Keane.....

People have always been on Keane's back, especially when it comes to pushing for Defoe's inclusion. Honestly most of them are on crack, even when he's off form, Keane is as much use as Defoe when he's playing fairly well (for Defoe). It just saddens me when people don't appreciate the things he has done for us. He does things that Defoe can only dream of.

Don't mean this to be an anti-JD thread, but most people seem to attack Keane as a way of defending defoe.

I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of Keane's, but I admire the effort he's been putting in recently (even if I still think his exaggerated running style makes it look like he's working harder than he is  ).

I am proud to have Keane as a player for our club, he's been fantastic this season and has always put 100% in when people arent him clearly dont give a shit. I feel sorry for him at times...

23 goals in 30 games?

I think for the first time ever we can sing "we all dream of a team of robbie keanes" and actually mean it!

I think Keano genuinely cares and loves the club. The only one out there today who does with the possible exception of Defoe who was only on pitch 5 min. At the moment Keane and Bale are the only 2 players who've looked worthy of the shirt- i wouldnt blame either for our current mess. At the other end of the spectrum is Jenas...

I like him, he's trying, and succeeding.

But.... :?

I do feel that Keane is detrimental to our all round play, maybe thats down to the system and not him, but I feel he slows our play down too much. Ramos likes teams with pace, maybe he can work in that, but I think Bent and Berbatov fit that better. Long may the goals continue though, he just doesn't have me totally convinced.

As said, one of only a few players who can hold their head high, he's our third longest serving player behind the King and AG and I'm surprised he doesn't get the respect he deserves. A great penalty taken today and has a very good goal scoring record.

Also noticed Friedel going over and tapped Keanos hand after the penalty went in, as I think Friedel tried a bit of phychology before keano put the ball down, nice touch.

We go through this every season. People slate Keane then he produces the goods and they have to back track. To be honest, I think it has a lot to do with how good Defoe is. If we didn't have such a good replacement for him, then I don't think people would be analysing every little thing he goes wrong. If we had Rasiak on the bench to replace him, then people would be far more tolerant of Keane flapping his arms and missing the odd chance. Also this season he suffered with his association with BMJ. He was seen as a Jol favourite and a lot of people who wanted Jol out used the fact he kept playing Keane as a way of criticising Jol. Therefore some people were actively looking to slate Keane's performances so they could criticise MJ for not droppping him, despite the fact he has a proven history of always producing the goods and is our current Captain.

My mate was chatting with Jenas last night (saturday night)
