Premier League clubs have been handed a major boost in the transfer market, following changes to Financial Fair Play rulings which will allow clubs to spend bigger this summer.

Tbh i thought that was a good rule that massively reduced what alan sugar called "the prune juice effect".
Last few years you saw clubs trying harder to get alternative revenue streams and be less reliant on the tv money.
If the next tv deal is crap (a good possibility with 5g coming in) some clubs could be in big trouble.

It just means that clubs can spend more on wages because the £7 million per year increase restriction has been removed.
They would still have to fall within the same % to income rules, so it's not going to result in West Ham/Everton etc. spending £15-20 million more on wages.
In fact it might put smaller clubs closer to the precipice should they be relegated etc.

Shouldnt parachute payments help with that? Should subsidize the clubs while they attempt the clear out over a few windows, i’d think.

I'm not familiar with that quote. Can you explain what is the prune juice effect?
