I'd still love to have him and Madison in our squad.
I've read quite a few times from different people that Maddison is a bit of a bellend off the pitch, eg saying to people in nightclubs that his shoes cost more than someone's entire outfit etc. I don't think he'd fit in with Poch's "no dickhead" policy

Well with Lampards cousin and his long time team mate in the studio, they are hardly going to slag them off too much are they.

Tammy Abraham is a shocking footballer, I will be shocked if he even scores 3 goals for them this season.

Ashley listing why Mount is better than Maddison was like Bubba talking about shrimp. .

I've always gotten the impression the Abraham thinks he's better than he is to be honest. Even whilst still at Villa he was alluding to wanting to be back at Chelsea instead of staying at Villa which seemed like a better and more realistic fit, in which he'd get more minutes and would be the main striker. I know that sounds harsh and he should be aiming as high as possible, but even at Villa and with his goal return he never looked like a striker that could lead the line at Chelsea IMO.

To be honest he came across alright in his pre-match interview alongside Chilwell with sky. Just seems like he likes to be a bit of a 'lad' at times, which will probably be ironed out with age and maturity.

I'm sure there's a thread on Chelsea Community about to be setup right about now bemoaning their style of play and using an example of Spurs not playing well and grinding out results :sneaky:

IMO ”grinding out” is kind, fluked is nearer

Is Lampard getting labelled clueless yet by all and sundry in football for not playing Kante as a defensive midfielder?

I watched the extended highlights online.

Chelsea battered Leicester in the first half and then got battered in the second. They were lucky to come away with a point tbh.

I think their main issue this season will be the obvious one; where will the goals come from?

If you don't take your chances and kill the game off, the opposition are still in it and will push you until the end.

Yesterday was a good example of that. At half time Chelsea could have been 3 or 4 up and Leicester would have had nothing to play for. But there was only one goal in it, so they came flying out of the blocks in the second period.

So...

We're already seeing cracks in Chelsea. Now we need some cracks in Man Utd or Arsenal!

Chelsea don't have a front line or goalscorers.

Man United don't have a midfield (except when Pogba can be bothered)

Arsenal don't have a defence.

Good times.
Chelsea have a terrible defence as well. There's no way they will last the season with Christensen and Zouma as their first choice CB's. Leicester should have scored 4 or 5 yesterday.

Arsenal seem better than expected, and fair play for strengthening on what was a tight budget. However I'm confident our strength in depth will help us through the season and we'll finish above the three you mentioned.

Tight budget ? How much were Pepe and Tierney ? Overall they may have spent more than us.

If Chelsea start every game like they did, going full on attack mode for the first 25 minutes or so...they are going to run out of steam in a lot of games. Not only that but the second half when they were trying to throw people forward they just kept getting exposed on the counter.

If they play against us, City or Pool like that they are going to receive a beating.

Did he not play Kante as DCM? Genuine question.

I've seen all three games they've played so far, and whilst every team is of course different in their approach he's playing basically the exact same box-to-box role that he did under Sarri. Still towards the right side of a three, not as deep as Jorginho but not as advanced as Mount, and trying to make use of his athleticism with support runs and to aid the high press.

Wolverhampton W vs Man U.

Hoping for a WW win ..
I think wolves could do it. The thing is they played a Euro match during the week so let's see how that affects them. United are not as strong as they or their fans think and Wolves away will be a tougher test than fat Frank's under 23s
