Apparently we finished 18th in the first division that year but it's not all doom and gloom as we brought home the Haringey Cricket Shield after a dominant season from an talented top order featuring renowned openers Dave McKay and Danny Blanchflower

Indeed. If it hadn't been for the war, and a knee injury, he would almost certainly have been a double international.

As an aside, I once played cricket against Mike England. Classy batsman; batted at four. I believe big Chiv was pretty talented too.
