Potential Chelsea record at the lane

This is so typical it's worked out like this but there's a strong possibility that if Chelsea win their next 2 ( Bornmouth and Stoke home) which will take the wins in a row to 13 , they play Spurs next at the lane which means they would be going into that game to try and equal Arsenal's 14 wins a row premier league record. This really is so typical Spurs ain't it Part of me loves the fact that potentially we could get revenge on them by ending that record right at the last minute. How great and sweet that would be from all the cr** we have endured from them the last season. But at the same time, it's so spursy to know we are the team that could potentially stand in the way of Chelsea equalling the record. Chelsea equalling that at white hart lane would just be another kick in the teeth for us and another reason for them to laugh at us. I fully expect Chelsea to win their next 2 which sets it up nicely for the game at the lane. Hopefully we can shove them back down to earth and ruin the record.

Ha ha and typical that if we do end up preventing them getting the record, we preserve a record for the Goons!

Don't care about records for them. But with it being midweek under the lights at the Lane and them not exactly blowing teams away I'm confident we'll beat them.

Surely game 15 is the most important one. Breaking the record is what counts

It's going to be a cracker whatever. We owe them after the last couple of meetings and I'm sure both sets of players and supporters are well up for this

Cannot wait

over on chelseacommunity some herbert* has started a thread about how gutted they'll be if their shot at the record falls at WHL........They are on an outstanding run at the moment but the game itself means no more to me than it usually does and I'm in no rush to find more reasons than usual to be disappointed if we lose :grumpy:

*not that the OP is a herbert of course :D

Their last game at Three Point Lane is obviously going to equal a Premier League record. It's just gunna happen

Obviously they would be the team that mathematically ends our title challenge, wins the last game at the lane and equal a Premier League record all in one year

It actually wouldn't surprise me at all to see one of Bournemouth or Stoke take a point off them

Costa has been on fire so it will be interesting to see how they play without him, wonder how Bats feels about having his ass permanently attached to the bench? Will Conte trust him?

Can see our game with them being very feisty, regardless, with the ref probably deciding it.

Anyone heard why Toby was sidelined today?

Don't like premier league records...as if football was invented in 1992 and nothing before that has any value

Come on mate everyone knows pre 92 wasn't proper football. Where we all sit down now and it's a non contact sports is where it's at.

God forbid singing about AW and his packets of sweets or Rsol and his impending lunacy back in the day....

Bournemouth have lost today therefore they will win their next game. Well, thats how their last 7 results have gone anyway...

Fuck off with your 'Spursy' shit too, it's bad enough that we all know it will happen every time, but do we really need to give it a name. It's not something we should be proud off.

Also as bad as giving 110%. Really winds me up that one

Equalling the record means nothing, it's the game where they beat it that matters so, no, there is no potential record at the lane.

they won't take any record at The Lane because we will beat them at The Lane.

So what is the longest winning streak in English football history?

A Google search suggest 14 games is the longest in English and sadly Arsenal is the only to do it in the top division:

Manchester United 1904-05 – Second division
Bristol City 1905-06 – Second division
Preston North End 1950-51 – Second division
Arsenal 2001-02/2002-03 – Premier league

Hopefully my search and source is incorrect.
