Portsmouth News claim manager Danny Cowley has made Tottenham striker Kion Etete a priority this summer, and is hopeful of striking a £300,000 deal. Etete is in the final year of his contract at Spurs.
You'd think he's done enough to earn at least another 2 year deal with his next loan being the one that decides his future HOWEVER I wouldn't be surprised if we do sell him. First team football at a level he is clearly comfortable at has to be a huge draw right now when our plans for young forwards clearly centre around TP and DS.
He's only 20. I think with Parrott, Etete and Scarlett there are 3 young players making proper progress in a position very hard to recruit for.
If any of those 3 make serious strides in the next 2 years, we and they would be in a great position for long-term Harry Kane succession planning and short-term strengthening of the squad.
Wouldn't want to lose any of them, all have something different about them and we need to show them the faith. They need to prove they are good enough.
