The fans are often frustrated by the updates that come out of the club. Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino and his assistant Jesus Perez have shed some light on how it's not as simple as many would expect when it comes to disclosing players injuries.

"His right-hand man Perez explained further: "In this situation, a big part is the player. Because sometimes you have to agree with the player what do you want to explain outside? Because they have the right about injuries, diseases, whatever they have."

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Lack of info on this used to infuriate me in the beginning; don't care now.

Think we're just a hideously secretive club in general.
I agree a lot of things are best left unsaid, but we go to far at times.

I think it's only really with Poch that it has been like that. Sherwood and Redknapp would tell everyone the colour of the spots on a player's scrotum if it were injury related.

I imagine never having to disclose or explain why a player is unavailable is part of the way Poch is able to discreetly discipline players, too.

I think Redknapp and Sherwood said more than Poch, but a hella lot less than they would have if they had free reign.

it's all down to the insecurity complex of the men at the top. To draw down the biggest salary in the country, you really should be more publicly accountable to the fans.

I think it is in the transfer market for sure.
They don't want anyone, least not Chavski finding out who we may be interested in so we don't, innevitably, get gazumped.
With regards to the Stadium, injuries, kit releases, almost every other aspect, I don't understand why we are so backwards facing with the fans,

As in, 'Lloris has a groin injury from when I kicked him in the balls for drink-driving'...

a lot of that is also commercially sensitive.

And coming back to not being gazumped, if we were more realistic with our starting point in negotiations on fees and wages we'd secure those exclusive negotiation windows Levy is supposed to be the master of. Having no exciting new players to check out is also affecting attendances, whether we get selected for live TV broadcasts and so on. He's not being smart at all.

I can imagine the conversation at Sky HQ now:

"Shall we show a spurs game this season?"

"Nah, they have no exciting new players"

"Oh, ok, fair point"

That is a fair point, but that wasn't what MP was angry about. It was because Martinez had blabbed about his player without permission from him (MP) or the club. It had nothing to do with privacy concerns. It was an ownership and control issue.
If privacy was the concern, then that was between Vertonghen and Martinez. Nothing to do with MP.

I believe there is an element of truth there, can't believe the game against westham is not live on sky or even BT.

Because you can't televise a 3pm kick off in the UK, the earlier one is Man Utd v Chelsea, and the later one is a Liverpool game (who, let's face it, everyone in the media supports)
