If we had beaten Leicester (like we deserved to), it would be in our hands. There's no doubt though, that if we keep up the pressure and win the games we're supposed to, we can still do it! Amazing times indeed!!

I too believe we are capable. But i think we also need to keep in mind that our aim was top 4 and that if we don't win the title, we don't get too downhearted. I know that I would be gutted to get so close, and not actually win. But I guess that's how it must feel for those teams that are always there or there abouts. I'm trying to make the most of every minute, and remember how far we have come in such a short time. (y)

We have to bin off the Europa If we want to win the title. Simple as that. We may even progress with the reserves. Vorm, full backs,Bentaleb,Carrol,Mason ect

Winning the league is a huge ask, we're only really in this position because some teams are underperforming. It's nice to be in the race as late as February but there's a danger our season could be called a failure if we don't end up champions. This is a developing squad, in two or three years I think we'll be ready for a real challenge.

I look back on three draws and a loss in our first 4 games and can't help but feel we have been the stand out best team since.

We deserve the title. I'm becoming religious all of a sudden cos I'm praying to someone every game we play.

He didn't say that.
Exactly. He said,
"We prefer not to speak too much, but we have belief we can do it and that is the most important thing. The gap is five points but it is better for us to just think about the next game and not so much into the future."

The press will do anything to big us up and increase the pressure just when we are performing really well. The only thing it takes is stating that the belief is there, and hopefully it is, but really the only right approach is to refuse to talk of the title race. We are currently punching way above our weight, but we have some real tough games coming up while we also compete in the EL, so top four should be the target for now and would be a great achievement. Anything more will be pure extasy.

I don't agree there is a danger of being called a failure if we don't win the title. ManCiteh and Arsenal should be deemed failures if they don't, but not us or Leicester. If we dont make top 4 this season after what has gone on with the other 'failures' (Chelsea, ManU and Liverpool) then maybe that danger you suggest but I still wouldn't count it a failure. Also I believe after this season we could mount a serious challenge next season (if we dont take champions league too seriously) never mind waiting two or three years.

Wooah!! Hold on kids.... We've got some really tough fixtures ahead of us.

Feet on the ground please people

Them teams we are playing in them tough fixtures are playing a well organised team who haven't been conceding too many, They have tough fixtures too and inconsistency is cropping up in some surprising fixtures.
Feet on the ground of course but we are not easy to beat. We can go into those games knowing we will compete.

Obviously the League is the primary objective. However I disagree that we should "bin" off the Europa. When teams become successful one of the things they need to adapt to is playing more matches and competing on more fronts right through to the end of the season.

Yes, we should rotate and rest players accordingly but we also have a strong full squad full of capable players who can come in and win us games. Imagine we drop out of Europa and FA Cup and then don't win the title. It will end up being just a very good season with, still, no silverware. I'd rather we finished second and won a cup than finish second and not.

Winning begets winning.

Imagine I we got to the final, didn't win and dropped out of champs league places. Even more in trouble. You have to win the Europa for it to be with it. I would actually say winning the league from where we are may actually be easier than that

Yes, but if you don't try and win it then we were just wasting our time. there's no reason why we can't put our very capable teams in all competitions. In fact, if you stick with the team that started against Watford for league that leaves you the likes of Vorm, Walker, Rose, Mason, Bentaleb, Alli, Son, Carroll and Onomah, possibly Winks if we are confortable with a lead. All that's required is for Poch to rotate the other positions so everyone is getting a rest.

In any case Pochettino seems to have the players' stamina as a top concern evidenced by him taking them out to Spain for a mid season break.

I checked that out with the table the other day actually, if you count from any period after the first 4 we've outperformed everybody. The Christmas period in particular was great for us, even if you include the Leicester game.

I was hoping we'd put out a weaker team for that, and ran them into the ground. We've got potentially twice as many games coming up, or more, as Leicester have.

I'm over-excited about the NLD already. And I shan't even see it.

the mindset is not just taking each game as it comes it is also to improve each game. Poch has been mentioning that development is the priority and that we will be a better side next season. So the mindset for the players is to develop for the future and we will not be disappointed if we fail to clinch the title. Leicester will start to believe it is their right to win the title if they stay in front.. the pressure will increase. Hopefully we can tag along just behind them until the final few weeks. Arsenal and Man City are plagued by inconsistencies, they will not easily catch Leicester and ourselves. We have a good chance of winning something this season. I'm looking forward to some thrilling matches.

Feet on ground and don't 'expect' it, but it is better to aim high and even failure will have an echo of glory.. Fans need to believe as Poch keeps saying about belief for the players, the humble confidence of fans will translate to the team

It's February. We're second. This is a real challenge. Whether we do it, who knows but we are challenging for the title, not just champions league places. There's no escaping that. I need to go and lie down in a darkened room again.
