I think he desires a small squad, I think he knows he must play in the CL, I think 1 goal over three matches can not be excused by fatigue alone, and I think he pulls excuses out of his hat now and then. (Nothing wrong with that, I suppose).

He needs to put the entire squad through finishing training for 2 weeks. Nothing but finishing training except for match prep the day before the match. We are awful at finishing our chances. It takes us like 20 shots to score 1.

Unlike Poch to make so many excuses I thought. F365 focused on it yesterday, five excuses in two paragraphs of conversation

Yes quite a contrast to normal Poch .If I remember rightly he said the Europa matches had no effect on following Prem games last season .

I'm just speculating , but the inconsistency of our press this season has spooked him a bit IMO .

After Bournemouth:

“Bournemouth pushed us a lot and we felt not fresh from the beginning of the game. Our start was a bit sloppy and you can feel the team wasn’t fresh. After 15 minutes we started to manage the game and it was under control.

"In the second half we were much better than Bournemouth and in the end you must score if you want to win the game. I am very pleased after playing Champions League in Leverkusen and before at West Brom, two very tough games, and to play a third game here, I am very pleased with the effort.

"In the first 20 minutes we arrived a little bit late because we weren’t fresh and maybe we made some bad tackles and deserved the yellow cards. It wasn’t bad intentions, it was because we felt a little bit tired from the beginning. Maybe we need more depth in the squad to avoid situations like the first 15 minutes"
