I was under the impression that we were balancing the books already?

Hasn't our spending been in the black for the last 5 ish years? I know wages will come out of this but still think we have been quite prudent with how we spend our cash.

Suppose that's where levy comes into his own.

Poch as well bringing through our youngsters that will save us cash in the long run.

I reckon our books are balanced, in that we earn enough to cover all our normal dealings, wages, transfers and run of the mill stuff.

But that stadium is a massive capital outlay.

We'll have to hold our tummies in for a while.

Trust Levy. There isn't another Chairman I'd rather have at the helm for this sort of project. We don't need to spend big on players anyway with Poch bringing through the youngsters.

We're balancing the books right now but this stadium is going to cost a fortune, more than we typically spend on players in multiple transfer windows. The best way to pay for it would be to bring champions league football to the Lane in its last season and the odd cup final wouldn't hurt. We need the bigger stadium, we won't be taken seriously among Europe's elite if in our home town the scum, Chelsea and West Ham all have bigger grounds. Long term with success it will pay for itself but the transition from a ground holding 36k and not seriously competing for the biggest trophies to a ground holding 61k and hopefully more regular silverware isn't easy.

Absolutely, this is an area he is actually qualified to work in - First Class Honours Degree in Economics and Land Economy!

Poch is the ultimate manager for this period of time. I couldn't think of any other manager I would want at the club especially through this time. He seems to understand Levy and vice versa.

If being lean over the next 3 years means bringing in more Dele Alli's and Eric Diers then bring it on!

Levy has said in the past that the finance for the stadium is in place and that it won't impact on the football side. Naming rights, sponsorship and affiliation to the NFL will bring in a hefty chunk, so on the whole I think the little baldy geezer has got it pretty well under control. As said previously, Poch is absolutely the right Manager during this period, and hopefully long afterwards as well.

It's beautiful music to my ears if we're not going to be looking at appeasing an ever demanding section of our fanbase by signing a bunch of carlos kick-a-balls chasing a big buck and/or a stepping stone to a bigger club in a year or two.

Players like Alli and Dier are living proof we don't have to use the same old business model to get the best players in.

I love how everything's coming together very nicely under Pochettino and the board of directors under Levy. He (Pochettino) is definitely growing on me.

I trust Poch he has managed to make me care about Spurs after AVB and Dim made me apathetic towards Spurs.

Poch made the club feel like our club again instead of a load of mercenaries pulling on our kit and not caring about the club or the fans. Now we seem to have a lot of players who are willing to fight and win, and seem like people we can back. Tottenham feel like a football club again.

Levy now needs to prove that we are going places and lock Pochettino down for as long as possible, I still cannot believe the bullet we dodged with Van Gaal, if Man Utd did not come in and poach him we could be fighting against relegation this season instead of what we are doing.

Plus we are going to get double the TV revenue than we could have expected with the new deal atarting next season. That's an extra £50 million per season!!

Although I think we may find that transfer fees expand to fit the available cash.

I can live without a transfer budget so long as the players we have now don't start leaving because we're not increasing their wages to the appropriate level that suits their ability. We need to keep this team together.

The fee we got from Townsend could be enough to pay for the raises to 8 or 9 of our top players. So I don't see much difficulty with increased wages next season due to our excellent performance this term.

Over the last 5 years we have raised £53,700,000 from our transfer activity net.

I think the finance specialist Levy started planning for the new stadium way before we started thinking about it. With the massive increase in TV revenues, at a great time for the club, its all looking rather good.

Got to go, Watford are on their way

i think levy has been trying to avoid a situation that we get a huge stadium and then have to struggle to pay for it, by planning finances well in advance. This is shown by our net spend over 5 years. And he is done this at the same time as slowly building a strong squad. When we have our stadium we really want to push on and the last thing we need is to be in financial difficulty at the time we have the infrastructure in place to be a really top team. He may not say that, but I believe time will show that he has been doing the right thing.
