Rightly so, at the moment, our youth team is providing better players than we can afford to buy, Kane and Winks being examples of that.

I guess it remains to be seen whether we actually see any of our young players out on the pitch. I was completely baffled as to why we didn't see a single one of them in the final games of the season where we were hammering the opposition. I'd have thought that was an ideal opportunity to give a couple of them a run out.

“We may lack a few players, but we are so calm because I think we have a very good team and the most important thing for us always is the team.”

I expect quit a bit of stick over what i am about to say but Poch and Levy need to decide whether we are a club that produces young talent or one that wants to win Trophies.

I don't doubt that Fergie produced some excellent young teams during his reign at Yanited, but he did mix that youth with quality, experienced players.

I except that we have come third and then second over the past two seasons, but on fairness we were never that close to becoming champions of the PL. In the major Cup competitions when it really mattered we were quite poor.

If (by the sounds of it) we have a low key transfer window then i fail to see where the young talent that we may well have will be experienced enough to carry the team forward to the degree required to actually win something.

Without sound contradictory or disrespectful of Poch, if he believes in our youngsters that much (and i don't doubt that) why spend almost sixty million last season on three players that couldn't get a game?

Poch needs time to let the youngsters mature. When he feels they are ready he will give them a chance. Ali and winks being examples.

Great post we are a club that produces young talent for minimal spend and sell on when the time is right for maximum profit, we are after all owned by an investment company which does exactly what it says on the tin.
I think the decision makers are happy with this policy and if we was to win something along the way it's a bonus.
I have often said that only a change of ownership would see us move away from this business model of this continuous conveyer belt of talent bought and sold for top dollar.

What, like Alderweireld, Erisken, Dembele, Vertonghen - that what you mean?
These lads are beasts, among the best in the league in their positions. Add the likes of Son, Lamela, Wimmer in the background, and I'd say this the perfect set up to elevate our youth.
Yes, one or two signings would be nice, but you start chucking stars in there, and this whole project goes tits up and quick.
