I'm glad he's happy. I love Poch but I grew very tired of the riddles and the threats of him leaving. Really hope everyone is now on the same page

Bit quiet today mate, just wondering if you're alright :sneaky:

I doubt he will hear you shady, mostly comes out during a transfer window, or on a match day thread, and even most of his 266 post all fall in the transfer window, whether it's a summer or winter.

I predict he will most probably post in the match day v City as he likes the big game ones, though occasionally he visits smaller games, and is a very aggressive poster:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

there are a few posters missing at the moment, and I'd expect them out in force if we ended up selling Eriksen and get close to our usual 0 net spend

So after reading the BBC article it would seem that Poch has had a change of heart regarding winning a trophy even if that means it’s the Carabao cup. Interesting as he previously always stated that he’s not really bothered unless it’s the premier league or champions league. Personally I welcome this change of mindset as I’m desperate for us to get this monkey off our back.

He's never said that, why do people keep saying this it's irritating - especially coming from our own fans.

He said that the domestic cups won't change the fortunes of the club nor do they create a winning culture. What he is saying is the Prem and CL are the trophies to make people stand up and recognise teams not the domestic cups.

Reports coming from Duncan castles that Poch wanted 2 x fullbacks, 2 x cm and 1 x am.

He got lo Celso (am) and tanguy (cm) and sess (fb) but was left short 2 other positions.

Be interesting to see how long his ‘happiness’ lasts for and if he brings this up if things don’t go well.

Also Ian Mcgarry claiming that Dybala deal fell through as he wanted £9m pa net which was £173k pw net which is more than Kane.

He’s stating that our reps looked at each other and were shocked at the wages.

Surely this can’t be the case as you’d like to think that we had spoken to his reps before agreeing a fee and that they know what we pay.

If true though, then Poch won’t be happy with how we go about our business.

Fingers crossed he is genuinely happy and we have a great season but we do look a little short imho.

DanKP who is a very good club source called Poch's targets at the start of the window and got everyone of them spot on, sounds like nonsense to me.

Lo Celso isn't an out and out AM. Eriksen didn't leave and Foyth & Skipp are likely to have changed the squad outlook in the off season also.

I don't think we're far off; but still look woefully wasteful at set-pieces unless Eriksen steps his game up. Dybala would have sorted this but it wasn't meant to be.

I feel sorry for Poch at press conferences. He is obliged to attend - whether he feels he has something to say or not. He goes into the conferences with his hands tied behind his back. He can't really talk about which players he is unhappy with in public which would actually be interesting - but not in the best interests of the team. Like wise Its difficult to single out good individual performances - without denigrating the contributions other team members.

In the recent set of transfer time interviews, he was not in a position to talk about confidential negotiations. Hence he resorted to "Im just a coach" to try and move the conversation back to things he can talk about. I felt this was then twisted and over reported with a spin that Poch is unhappy with his role, and that he is not involved in player recruitement etc etc. Transfers are clearly tricky, involved and unpredictable : there is interesting content there but unfortunately Poch cant (for good reason) talk about the details in press conferences.

Then onto player interviews - I find them almost unwatchable. The players have a similar problem - there are only a few things they can say. Inevitably with the interviews the players trot out the same cliche's. I don't blame the players or Poch.

Overall I think Poch does a good job in interviews - he cant say many of the interesting things that we would like to hear, but he brings personality to the discussion.

For 5 years he has been saying "I won't comment on rumours", yet they still insist on asking him these speculative questions. I think I'd lose my rag occasionally too in that situation. In yesterdays presser, he says it 3 times, and yet is then immediately asked about another one.

He is also well known for his team ethic. He doesn't often single individuals out for praise or criticism. They win together and lose together. Again, the journos don't appear to understand this really quite simple concept.

These people are in privileged positions and they then choose to waste so many good opportunities to ask good questions. I'd want to pick the man's brains and understand what his thought processes are and his strategies etc. Except he gets the same banal questions thrown at him.

I wonder if there'll be an opportunity once the tabloids start to become a thing of the past? Hopefully some of these more pure journalists will get more opportunities.

I think Poch handles things a lot better than some coaches but its obvious that when things behind closed doors are not all well he gets quite tetchy. I think he either needs to realise he's going to be pressed on these things and should just limit his answer (instead of rambling) or the press officer should intervene if the same question comes up more than once.

This is something I was thinking about yesterday and it’s such a good point. In fact Guardiola said that it was the biggest difference between Spain and England when it comes to the journalists - in Spain they are interested in the football, tactics etc but in England they are interested in the narrative, the stories around the actual football itself.

Watching that press conference yesterday I really wanted someone to ask him about his vision for evolving his tactics now we have TN and GLC. Where does he see GLC as most effective, does having a more press resistant midfield change the way he deploys Dele. Stuff like that.

But no, same old shit. You’re right, he must get so tired of it.
