Here's what Mauricio Pochettino said to the media ahead of the Liverpool match.

Interesting about Winks, seems he will always have the injury now and has to live with it. A real shame for such a young player. Lets hope he can learn to play through the pain.

I seem to remember the same being said about Mason? I may be wrong. But it sounds like a niggle that will persist that he just has to get his head around. Different activity I know ( but no less demanding) but I remember tales of Flora Robson (the ballerina) who apparently used to virtually collapse from pain once offstage. Onstage you wouldn't have guessed it.

I would think the fitness and stresses of ballerinas would be about the same as Poch's midfielders so actually a good comparison!

Shame looks like we may never see the best of him again what with the lack of recruitment over the summer I was hoping he could be like a new signing.

Soft tissue injuries are a bitch - did my ankle playing 5 a side and it’s never been the same since. Even just walking sometimes I feel it going. Hopefully with access to proper physio and trainers he’ll have a long and fruitful career.

On a different subject, love the arrogance where he says he deserves the congratulations for allowing Son to compete in the Asian games. Just hope he doesn’t get too brash.
