He (we) would be better for players on a similar wavelength to Lamela. as he is a player with a picture of what's around him and when the space/movement is there he can find those 1-2's and balls around the corner, unfortunately we have too many that slow it down with 5-6 touches before doing anything, and our movement is slow and predictable, making Lamela more reliant on dribbling and trying to commit defenders which he is hit and miss at.

Few would agree with me and maybe it was a lack of players he could work with but Eriksen with all the assists and everything recycled the ball a lot.I like the way Ndombele sees the space ahead and hits it.If course it's more risky but he has the confidence where Eriksen recycles and hits the pass when it's there. So sometimes it's a slower process. He takes a safer route though which is not bad either.
If Lamela was more creative and had more substance would we need Lo Celso?
Eriksen was the man. We needed players to control the attack nor Lamela or Dele really took hold of a game.Just flashes.

Eriksen for all his attributes doesn't really add to quick team play, more towards final balls, many stated how he changed the game against Villa, but that was mostly due to the space being there when he came on due to Villa tiring and their heads dropping after conceding.

Eriksen does not often create much (or sporadically as you say for Ali) against bus parkers because of the way we play as a team.

From what i have seen of Lo Celso, he is a more refined version of Lamela, better technique and balance but similar skillset.

There are different ways if creating.Sometimes Eriksen will hit a terrific ball. The volley height one to Dele was brilliant last year. Many times it's a slow recycling process (except when our counter was on) and works it till there is space or not. I find Ndombele immediately goes to the through ball and because he twists and turns quickly, angles change and opportunities are available.
Its different but hopefully Lo Celso will add to the fluidity

Good article but does beg the question, with Poch being an admirer for so long, why didn't we sign him last summer when he was available from PSG on loan with £22m fee that Betis got?

If you remember we couldn’t shift any players so didn’t have any free foreign spots in the squad.

Everyone seems to have seen those Betis highlights but has anyone see these with PSG from 2017/18, he looks real quality.

Really impressed.
The boy has flair, keen eye for a pass, and great dribbling ability.

Enjoyed this article about the connections between Poch and Lo Celso through Jorge Griffa

Thanks for posting. A great read. I wonder how true this paragraph is?

Pochettino has long seen Lo Celso as a central part of Tottenham’s future and, according to reports from Argentina, his decision to remain as Spurs manager this summer rested on Daniel Levy signing the 23-year-old.”

This has made me more excited than the Betis highlights, I know we are all excited but I don't think even we fully appreciate just how good this lad could be.

I said much earlier in the window that this was the signing that got my juices flowing.

After watching that compilation I think it even more I reckon this guy is going to become Harry's new Bessie.
He will create space constantly by drawing parts of the brick wall before us to him.
Fingers crossed I think he is going to be a massive asset to us. (y)

This also gave me confidence in the believe by Poch and others.
The key is chemistry between the players.Espcecially Ndombele and Lo Celso but also Lo Celso and Kane and Dele Alli and Son etc
Seeing the fluidity of Silva and Aguero and between Firmino/Mane and Salah. We need more of that than we have got...more dynamic a final third than we have seen last season.
We've had that flow with Kane Eriksen and Alli - I get what you mean though

After watching his psg highlights he looks to have similarities to Kevin de bruyne. Hope he can unlock defences in the same way kdb does for man City

Too often with so many short passes up the field...and often easy balls were played...defences solidified. Kane at times did all his own work to score. We needs quicker passes and more forward it will cut through.its riskier at times but it also takes the onus on to score early.Flow comes not just from completed passes but also movement upfield.
When we win the ball in midfield also space is created and flow comes from that too but moving from our goal we need to get the ball quicker out and now we have Ndombele there should be more space open an earlier as he can beat a man.Lo Celso too it looks like.
I've honestly never seen Eriksen dribble someone. He lays it off.

I can't wait to see Lo Celso and Ndombele in the double pivot of 4231. It's going to freak people the fuck out.
