Unfortunately, Poch, as others have found out, its not going to be your choice. :(

Let me ask who has "linked" Vertonghen to a move away from Spurs?.......the media!! Once again we are their whipping-boys when it comes to those gossipy/negative stories
Yes we all know how he (apparently) seemed to lose interest last season and he hasn't signed a new - extended - contract. But he is still playing solidly in Spurs' defence and when he get's a regular playing partner will become the cornerstone of a solid defensive unit. (Just put him with Kaboul - or Fazio against weaker teams - on a regular basis and you will see this Pochetto.)
Players with his sort of languid style (i.e. Berbatov), will at times be accused of not putting out....let's not be swayed by the media with Jan.

I do have one fear though; that Spus' upper Management will opt for the quick buck AND sell him.

I would sell Vertonghen and Kaboul personally. I could never really understand why Verts gets such praise, he hasn't signed a new contract yet some bellow from the roof tops to how great a defender he is, then you look at our defence and scratch your head.

I'm not sure that he's shown enough of anything to be particularly sought after in a long time
