Why did they call him a spaniard?

I don't think they are calling Poch a Spaniard!

But I guess a large core of folks in Argentina will follow Spanish football, as many generations of Spanish folks have settled there.

They may be many that root for a Spanish manager even over an "Argentinian", so Poch appears to be having a tongue in cheek, pop at them all.

IMO.
